Royal 15MX shredder does not run at all in auto

I just had this exact problem with my shredder. I found that the LM324 IC on the circuit board was shorted out, and it tool the LM7812 regulator with it. I replace both and it's good as new.

How do we fix a Royal CrossCutter Paper Shredder that got a piece of chord stuck in it?

The continuous running tends to be that the sensor that detects that there is material still to be shredded is either dirty or has some paper stuck in front of it.

Carriage won't move when I type. I have a Royal KMM and when I use the the A, W, E, Z, and X key the carriage doesn't advance. All of the other keys work just fine including the space bar.

It is hard to tell what is causing this but a few things to could be a loose universal bar, the trip adjustment, or something foreign in the typewriter stopping the movement of those keys
