You can replace every board in the TV and chances are it won't fix it. Like 95% of sets that don't have backlights it's a backlight strip issue, the backlight strips have failed and the power board is shutting down the negative return path because of over current. On a set this sie it won't be easy to do yourself but it can be done, you will want to use suction cups to remove and replace the panel, it's very fragile and the larger the TV the harder it is to handle, order 4 suction cups on ebay or amazon. I would think that someone, somehow has hit the TV screen with something. My TV screen has a black line going across the middle horizontally and it intersects with a colored line going down the side vertically. Wher the 2 lines intersect is where it was shot with a bb.
