Looks like there should be a power button below the digital readout for the temp. There are a + and a - and a power button I believe.

You can, but you need some experience with soldering.
Look for the other answers here in this forum, there are some descriptions on how to open the device.

In short: you have to remove the power button (be careful not to destroy it), then slide off the middle plastic part, remove a screw, then take off the upper main plastic housing, remove another two screws and take out the inner device which holds the motor and batteries.

The old batteries can be replaced by 2 AA-size eneloops.

You have a break on the razor side of the charge base. Most likely a cracked solder. . But it could also be a worn plug... any case pushing on it will only increase the problem

I could not find the manual specific to your HC-610 but this Remington link has many manuals for hair trimmers that might be a start...
