Unable to get consistent reception on ABC (channel 7 NY)

The antenna may be the problem in your case but I was getting New York 7 digital with a strong signal before the transition on June 12th and now I do not get any signal. I use a rather large VHF /UHF roof antenna mounted in my attic. The compass heading for NBC NY 4.1 is 169 deg and 18 mile from my location according to antennaweb.org. I get this channel with a strong signal. Comparably ABC NY 7.1 is 170 deg and 18.7 miles from my location and I do not get a signal. Perhaps ABC NY is having some problem with the transition. It does not make sense assuming the information of antennaweb.org is correct. BTW if and outdoor or attic mounted antenna is not an option I would recommend the following antenna. I used this for my friends? setup when she was having problems with rabbit ears. It also got some pretty high user reviews and is not expensive. It is for both indoor and outdoor applications. Good Luck! http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10901&cs_id=1090102&p_id=4730&seq=1&format=2

Hello. I have a RCA LED50B45RQ TV that has standby light illuminated when turned on with remote white flashes on left side of screen for a couple seconds with no audio or video.

Your RCA LED50B45RQ TV appears to have a problem with the display and audio. When the TV is turned on and the remote is used, the standby light illuminates, and the screen flashes white on the left side without audio or video. Various factors could be to blame for this problem. A few troubleshooting tips are provided below:
  1. Check the connections: Make sure that all the connections between your TV, cable box, or streaming device are securely plugged in.
  2. Check the settings: Ensure that the TV is set to the correct input and that the cable box or streaming device is set to the correct output.
  3. Check the backlight: Some TVs have an adjustable backlight setting. Ensure the backlight setting is turned on and set enough.
  4. Check the cable: If the cable that connects the TV to the wall outlet is damaged, the TV won't turn on. Try unplugging the TV, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in.
  5. Check the power supply: The power supply could be malfunctioning. It could be damaged or not provide enough power to the TV.
  6. Check the Main Board: The main board controls all TV functions. It could be malfunctioning, which is causing the TV not to turn on or display correctly.
  7. Contact the manufacturer: If none of the above solutions work, it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer for further assistance. Your TV may require repair or replacement.

My rca TV has no color in apps

If your RCA TV is not displaying color in the apps, there are a few potential causes and steps you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the TV's color settings: Make sure the TV's color settings are set correctly. You can try adjusting the color settings to see if this fixes the problem.
  2. Check the HDMI connection: If you are using an HDMI cable to connect the TV to a device (such as a cable box or streaming device), make sure the connection is secure and the HDMI cable is not damaged.
  3. Restart the TV: Sometimes a simple restart of the TV can fix minor issues. Try turning the TV off and on again to see if this fixes the problem.
  4. Check for software updates: The TV may need a software update to fix the issue. Check for updates and install any available updates.
If these steps do not fix the problem, there may be an issue with the TV itself or with the device you are using to access the apps. In this case, it is recommended to contact RCA customer support or a TV repair technician for further assistance.

RCA tv only in black and white?

The route through the circuits in the TV from the various sources all lead to the final video amplifiers for red green and blue. Somewhere along the route is a circuit called a colour switch. This allows colour if the signal is strong enough, otherwise it only allows black and white. This fault suggests a weak video chip which is the one just before the switch circuit. the fault could also be a faulty coupling capacitor to or from this chip, or a low power supply voltage. Check for dry soldered joints around this circiut. Please note if resoldering on new televisions that they may have non leaded solder which requires about 50 degrees centigrade hotter iron.

Why won't my RCA tv turn on?

Hey Tony, there are 2 things that can cause the issue your seeing, I want to double check one thing, when you say the standby light is on you mean it stays on, it stays on steady and doesn't blink, when you push the power button on the tv? If it blinks we need to go down another road however this model and many other models of Funai brand sets have main board issues, it's possible your power supply is bad however if you're getting standby voltage and you are if you see a standby light that means the hot side of the supply is working and that's where about 90% of power board issues are. Go to shopjimmy.com and put the model number of the main board in the search and see if one is available, as a last resort look on ebay but I don't advise buying boards there. Hope this helps, one other thing, if you can't fix it yourself you might as well recycle it as taking it in for service will run close to the cost of a new set.

I have a Digital Lab DLU-5004B universal remote. The codes for a RCA TV do not work on my TV

If the codes for your Digital Lab DLU-5004B universal remote are not working with your RCA TV, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the manufacturer's website: Some manufacturers may have updated or additional codes available for their TVs. You can check the manufacturer's website to see if there are any new codes that may work with your TV.
  2. Try a different code: If the codes provided in the remote's manual are not working, you can try using a different code for your TV brand. You can find a list of codes for different TV brands online or in the manual for your universal remote.
  3. Check the remote's battery: Make sure the remote's battery is charged and properly installed. A weak or dead battery can cause the remote to malfunction.
  4. Reset the remote: Resetting the remote may help resolve any issues with the remote's programming. To reset the remote, remove the battery and press any button on the remote for at least 15 seconds. Then, reinsert the battery and try the codes again.
  5. Check the TV's compatibility: Some TVs may not be compatible with universal remotes, in which case you will need to use the TV's original remote or a different universal remote that is compatible with your TV.
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the remote or the TV itself. In this case, it is recommended to bring your TV and remote to a professional for further diagnosis and repair.

RCA Universal Remote Control Programming Codes Programming Your Universal Remote.

Special Notes:
RCA, GE and Proscan Brand Devices:
Many of these devices (TV's and VCR's) will not need to be programmed. In the event that programming is required, the code search method is suggested.

The remote may already be set up to operate your brand of TV, VCR, or Cable Box. It is pre-programmed with following codes:
  • TV-000
  • VCR-000
  • Cable Box-000
  • AUX is programmed with VCR code 037
For brands that require programming, there are two ways to program: Using Code Lists or Code Search. Use Code Search if the code lists are not available or if the codes from the lists do not operate a device.

Programming a Device using Code Search:

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

Programming a device using the Code Lists:

  1. Find codes for each device and brand below.
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
  3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button you want to set up. If programming AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device to be programmed (TV, VCR or Cable). When the selected device button flashes proceed to the next step.
  4. Enter the three digit code from the TV, VCR or Cable Box code lists.

  5. Release CODE SEARCH.
  6. With the device on, press another button, for example CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-5 using another code number from the lists.

What could be wrong with RCA LED55G65RQ with pilot light blinking red?

I assume "pilot light" is the standby light you're referring to. On most Funai brands including RCA, a continual flash of the standy light indicates inverter shutdown, pointing to bad LED backlights, new ones can be ordered from shopjimmy.com and you can install them yourself, no special tools are needed, however watch a couple youtube vids to see some tips on how to do it.

I have an Ilive DVD/CD player. With no remote so I purchased a RCA rcr804bfdr/rcr804br series 4 in 1 universal remote control. I need the code to program this device.

RCA remote control have no set-up code to Ilive brand devices. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have. Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some online sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts.
