Many of those gave a short buzz to tell you they were working. It's when your running and they buzz you need to shut down immediatly and find out what is wrong (engine heat, no oil ??_)

Should be a warranty of sorts on the repairs. You should contact the person who rebuilt the outdrive.

put your motor on the garden hose after you remove the propeller (you don't want to step into a spinning blade). remove the cover and start the motor. Have some one shift the motor (without engaging the throttle).. This will show you which cable is the shift cable.Disconnect the shifter, and while it's running, shift it full forward and full reverse to fin the halfway point. Next return the control box to neutral and adjust the connector. Start it up and see if the control box will shift the gear box as far as you did by hand. If not you need to take the control box apart and move the cable anchor so you get more movement. Get a repair book and take pictures as the guts of a control box can be VERY confusing.

That control box is very complicated and you should find some old merc mechanic to do that. The steering is very basic and will either have a wire wound cable that spools on to the steering hub, or a flat rack and pinion style which can go together either top or bottom. So try it out and reverse it if it steers backward.

Some where is an easy pop off plastic cove on the big end of the shift handle. When it is popped and you can see an allen head in the middle of the handle, you can remove the handle and let hang by the tilt wires. under the handle will be 3 or more long bolts that hold the shift control to the console. After you remove them the console will go inside the panel taking the handle and wires with it. NOW comes the tricky part- the key switch has a power wire going to the control/ Try not to break it. Sometimes you need to loosen the key switch from the dash and allow the wires to follow the control out the back of the panel. Now you can see the cables and remove the faulty one.

I read your problem and i think i might be able to help. I believe I know what you are looking for. There is this web site and I am pretty sure you can get this part. However, depending on your condition of control shifter and problem you have to justify yourself if better to buy the whole shifter, but i feel based on your description and your mechanical abilities you most likely can replace the broken or missing parts. What engine is this prop on? Size and Horse power? Year and make? Model number would also be a great help.

Never buy a trailer with the same capacity as the weight of your boat! This can be very dangerous! Instead, make sure the trailer's capacity is at least twice that of the weight of the boat, all your gear, and the boat's motor.

Small yachts, also known as Silboats or Cabin Cruisers are 20-40 feet. There are of course larger Yachts that can get to over 100 feet, also known as Mega Yachts.

I would clean the fuel filters and empty the water retainer filter then do some testing.

Then two Deep Cycle Gel Batteries, one for the marine electronics, fish finder etc, and another that powers the front bow mounted Trolling motor. You will find them in the deck lockers. Open them, release any tie downs, undo the cables and lift them out for Winter storage. I keep mine in my garage and I put them on a battery minder for 24 hours once a month.
