There is some short circuited component/s in your TV. It heed service. A skilled work indeed.

This is simple: set in the closed caption menu (some cable boxes also have it) called TEXT. Look in the menu and turn it off first in the set and also in the box used if used for signal.Odd feature and never really took off--designed so some channels like PBS etc could broadcast text.

did u go through the menu and check for the contrast and tints?

open up and check for a dry joint at variable settings on chronos to screen controller if all cables ok ( check for pin damage on connector first sometimes a misalined pin prob

The LVDS cable is loose at the T_CON side. Simple fix. Take the back of of your set. It is the cable on the top middle that has a whole bunch of little twisted wires. With the set off take out the connector and the plug it back in tight. Turn on set and you should be back to normal.

my 42 inch sagem tv is overheating, the red light comes on, then 2 lights come on and then turns off, and light stays on. and only turns off when you disconnect tv. When i turn on the tv after 1 min the light flashes, the tv turns off and the light stays on.

Problem experienced was not mentioned and so it seems we are not able to comment. Please post the fault seen with details.

If sound is coming and showing no display then its display problem that comes from card situated inside the LCD. So go to nearest LCD repair center and check out this.

first try to check for the power supply of the TV. the power supply of the TV is located on the place where the main plug of the monitor is connected, check for busted or defective fuse by using a multimeter a defective fuse has no reading on a multimeter. the red line flashes because of a short circuit on the power supply. check for a shorted transistors, diode or maybe a loose connection on the power supply section.may this one help you..

There's a lot of troubles the unit. its probably cold soldered, capacitors needed to replaced, defective power supply and regulator. if you see plenty of moist of capacitor in the surrounding it means you have to replace it, enlarging case or melting tag. some capacitor their feet get rust seem all part were getting worn out. try to soldered the feet of the component maybe there were ring o circle on the lead. There were some cases in physical appearance when you staring on the lead its okay but in the inside where not. i usually was to re-solder stage by stage. then look if improvement on your work. ask me again if nothing happened.

The problem of your tv. is some of the parts in your pcb has already a weak connection try to tap the side your tv. if the color returns try to resolder the crt socket section it is connected in the picture tube. But before you open the back of your tv. and do the soldering be sure to unplug it to prevent accident.

Power scan instructions:

Step 1:
Press and hold the TV mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate,then release.

Step 2:
Press and release the Power button.

Step 3:
Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desiredequipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will poweroff.

Step 4:
Press the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, themode light flashes three times.

i hope your TV is getting ''off '' by itself when you are trying to turn ''on'' - not when you are watching TV...........then following is the situation ..........IF LED IS BLINKING then---- usually after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to tube ) becomes weak - then TV won't get ON.. means no picture no sound ..but LED blinks - in some TVs along with EHT 1 or 2 components like resistor, transistors, etc will also gets deffective ..........IF LED IS ALSO OFF then on main board in power section area some component is deffective ... MAIN BOARD SHOULD BE CHECKED COMPLETELY........ so solution is TV circuit board has to be checked to find whether only EHT is deffective or other components are also deffective - price of EHT will be between Rs.250 (US$ 5) to Rs.600 ( US$ 12) ........iam from bangalore.....i don't have any idea about EHT component's price & service charge in your area........this problem cannot be solved by user unless user is a technical person having idea about components (resistors, transistors,diodes,...etc..), having multimeter , soldering iron & other tools...so my suggestion call TV service engineer or contact samsung service centre.........
