'buttons & ir lock' display for a PDP-50MXE20
Ms Darlene
All televisions need remote controls and they are readily available for about $20. Without a remote you can only do the most basic changes.
Google
make model replacement remote
There have been issues yesterday and today with wifi enabled televisions suddenly quitting. Try this
Turn off the television.
Remove the network cable.
Reboot the router and wait 15 minutes.
Turn on the television.
Plug in the network cable.
Set up WiFi, (but you may need a remote).
EVERYONE needs a remote!

DVD stuck in player. Now it does not respond to any buttons pushed.
Power up and press open button as soon as it starts to spin, some dvds lock with read errors, some spit the disc out..
If the belt is worn open unit, remove tray and replace rubber belt, if you dont have one use a thick rubber band.
if you cant access rubber belt, most dvd's have a slide underneath. use a small screwdriver and manually slide it open.
Read errors are not always the laser...so dont go and waste money.
If your dvd is not hq using dc brushless motors, remove loader, give the spindle and sled motor a good lube with wd40, spin the spindle moto up with 5-7 volts to clean the commutator.
Carbon builds up and the motors dont spin at correct speed.
Sled remove drive gear, usually pops out and burn it clean as above.
I have had good results with above since 2004, repaired 1000's of dvd's over my 14 years as senior engineer for wholesale importer in cape town.
Good luck

Pioneer XV-BD717W, don't know how to turn on the ARC function on the player.
Make sure that the blue-ray player (HDMI Out) is connected to your TV (HDMI In) with an HDMI cable. Set the TV to the input for the player. When not viewing any content, press the Home (Menu) button. Choose the Setup icon on the screen, using the left/right buttons on the remote. Press Enter. Use the Up/Down arrows to highlight Others and press the right arrow button. Use the Up/Down arrows to highlight ARC and press Enter. Use the Up/Down arrows to highlight Yes and press Enter to confirm and save the setting.
See page 38 of the manual for the XV-BD717W for the information about the Others sub-menu (including ARC). Make sure that ARC is available on the TV and is enabled if needed. The manual is available here: http://docs.pioneer.eu/Manuals/BCS_313_AFN75473217_LG_manual/ .
I hope this helps.

Reset pioneer tv
I rearranged furniture in my living room, picking up my pro-151fd elite, plugged it in to have no power, tried everything I could think of including an overnight reset. Thought of what could be the common denominator with most of the issues that people have, it's that they picked it up, felt under the front left and turned the tv on. The switch is not labeled, is part of a sqaure protrusion at the very bottom of the tv, 1" to the right of the "Pioneer" label, hope this helps someone who just has a dead tv without the blue flashing lights.
