replace the dead battery

Sounds like there's an open in the battery wiring circuit.

Assuming your generator has the battery charger option?Measure the battery voltage at the battery lead in the generator, without the unit running, or the motorhome ignition on. It should read approx 12V after the unit has been sitting a while. Then start the generator, it should rise to approx 13.8 with a good battery. If it does not then the stator windings and charge rectifier in the generator should be checked. If the voltage is 13.8 approx with the generator then you problem lies further upstream, and possibly with an isolation solenoid. If you generator does not have a battery charge winding/option then charging comes from the line voltage via a motorhomes inverter, check the inverter.

If this unit dies under load conditions, decrease your load and try it again. If this happens under no-load conditions, check your fuel supply. Start with the filters, then check pressure and flow.

Check rotor skip rings for cleanliness, rotor brushes. Stator resistance, rotor resistance. If ok then change control board

Not normally, the board outputs to the fuel pump, or LP shut off solenoid. It doesn't know the difference.

The fuel filter screws directly into the pump, it is a small in line filter

check for a faulty sump oil switch . check for faulty coil ( magneto on the flywheel) as the time it runs suggests that it is breaking down internally.

check the current draw from the machine being a 4000 watt machine if you are drawing 4000 watts it is overloaded as that is the surge power available not constant power which is around 3500 watts that would account for the requirement of fans to keep it cool even if It is not 4000 watt what ever capacity it is it is running in an overload situation

You didn't indicate a Spec number for your gen that would be required. Any RV place can get this part it is Cummins part # 149-2513 but a Spec number would help.
