if you were able to format the recorder thru the recorder.. it should be ready.. but if formatted through the computer, the files needed to operate the recorder are lost and you will need to send to repair to get the files put back on there

I'm afraid that the only solution I can think of would be to put in a new set of batteries. If your quick about it, your might not lose the information.

Check your battery polarity. Unlike most devices on the market, the Olympus recorders have both their batteries pointing the same direction. Normally the positive end of the battery points toward the bottom. Look inside the batter compartment for the correct polarity.
