WS-110 memory full but no files
well, i resolved this myself by going to the sub-menu, and formatting
the recorder to its original state. thankfully, i backed up the files
on my computer first, so i didn't lose any data, although i did have to
go in and re-set all my preferences on the recorder.
lesson: don't MOVE files from recorder to computer. copy them instead,
and do the actual erasing from the physical recorder itself.
i don't know if this was the most elegant solution, but at least it did get my recorder up and running again. i'd love to hear if there is a better resolution out there.

I'm not aware of the model number given, but there could be a number of issues, such a a damaged hard drive, a virus, or a bad boot record. If it is the latter, then try the following:
Insert your Windows XP CD and if you receive a message to Press any key to boot from CD, simply do so.
Even though it goes through some preliminary installation steps, you will eventually be prompted to choose the option for manual repair (press the R key).
This installs the Recovery Console.
Type the administrator password to log on to your installation. Then, at the command prompt, type FIXMBR and press Enter.
If you receive a message saying that there's an invalid boot record already in place; simply confirm that you want to continue. Reboot, and you should have your old Windows screen back.
If you simply cannot access your hard drive, try removing it and connect it to a USB adapter and see if it can be read by a secure PC.
