I have the same problem with my camera. Olympus tech says the lens needs to be replaced at $185+ and it's 18 months old with little use. Not happy, not worth it. Don't buy this camera.

Fixya cannot install software on any equipment, for the user's own protection

Possibly a form of flare caused by including the light source in the image.

Since a replacement is available for £46 on Amazon, and the repair charge would probably be at least that if not more, i should just replace it. And this time, don't drop it.

You can format in the camera. usually you go to the menu on your camera and select tools or utilities, select format.

Your memory card will be erased.

a 1 GB card is SMALL - and is likely very very slow in saving pictures. you may want to tryt to get a different, larger memory card

maybe the image format is not supported by the camera, try converting the images in .jpg or .jpeg format.

Is the battery fully charged ?

Try Staples. Just make sure that you do not get a card too big for camera - otherwise it will not work with the memory.
