In case if you have lost your photos from your iPhoto library. You can recover them back with the help of a photo recovery software. The one which I use is Yodot Mac Photo recovery software to recover iPhoto photos. So if you have any photo loss from your iPhoto library you can use this software.

You can try removing the lens and putting it back again but if its still giving you the error message, you need to have the camera repaired by a technician.

Take the lens off and continue pressing the shutter untill it doesn't react anymore, you should then have a normal menu without the error message.Put your lens on and you're all sorted.Cheaper and less hassle than sending it to Nikon.

From what I gather, it's supposed to only show when the shutter button is halfway depressed, so I'm inclined to think you have a shutter button sticking, or some crazy thing like that. Here's a similar problem as answered on Nikon's support site:

It could just be some tricky menu setting messing you up. I would run the camera by a reputable repair shop, just to see if they can reset it, etc.
