If it is running Win CE then it is VERY old. The GPS is probably failing to see the satelites. Probably time to replace it.

Remove the existing SD card. This is usually found in a thin, rectangular slot on the side of the Nextar GPS. Insert the SD card with the maps update into the empty SD card slot. Press until it clicks into place. Reset the unit by pressing the "Reset" or pushing a pin into the "Reset" hole. Click the "Navigation" button to have the maps automatically update on the GPS.

You can find SD cards for a number of different retailers. I have used Amazon before, you can also do a Google search to find probably 30 different vendors that have these cards. Average price is about 50 cents US per Gigabyte of size.

Unless you know how to replace the on button, I don't think there is much you can do. You need some skills, to open electronic devices, in a way you can put it back together in one piece. Could be a spring in the switch is broken or the contacts are defect. But you have to open it to see what is wrong, so you can replace the defective part. Be aware it can be difficult yo get spare parts. Don't know what a new one with brand new maps will cost, but there are great (cheap) ones on the market now. Check that too. Success..
