that is normal operation when thermostat setting is reached it will cycle off compressor.

If everything is working fine, I would simply ignore the false indication that something is wrong. If it makes you feel any better you might want to check the manual for this code or go the manufacturer web site for assistance.

Unfortunately there can be several reasons for your AC-14000E portable air conditioner not cooling well. As with most portable air conditioners the filter grates on the rear of the unit can be removed for cleaning. When those are removed you may be able to clean some portion of condenser coils. There is also the possibility that your portable AC has a refrigerant leak in the system and will not be able to cool effectively without a repair (which usually costs as much as a new portable AC). Portable AC's are not designed to be recharged and operate on a sealed refrigerant line so even finding someone able to repair it may be a challenge. Your best bet is contacting the company you bought it from and talking through some solutions, they most likely have experience with these units and should be able to help you.

Check whether you have set the OFF timer.

I'm not sure if NewAir is made by Gree -- they supply many. On Gree units, E7 simply means one unit is requesting heating while another is requesting cooling and you can't have both at the same time. So that's the first thing to check. Very simple, very common, doesn't indicate that anything is wrong with the system.
