Question edited for clarity, full 'make model (what it is)'. This is an Amazon, eBay, Newegg, Overstock special and basically a device without a maker. There is a South African minerals company that share the same name but no Mintek maker of electronics. The only option would be to take it to a computer or electronics repair shop locally and see if they can diagnose. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you. Turn off and disconnect power from unit. Check laser shuttle worm gear, look for dirt or hair (as I found). Remove with tweezers carefully. Check lubrication of worm gear shaft. If gone or worn, use white lithium grease to lube (very little). Play music CD 2 - 3 x. Than DVD. Worked for me.

Check your settings in the menu of the dvd player you can do this with or without a dvd in it. If not a setting it maybe the speaker/s are blown try putting earphones in if you get sound from them it is probably the speakers.

Do you use a DVD burning program or DVD copy program to convert ISO file to DVD? Normally, if you not, it is just data DVD and not a playable DVD disc for DVD player machine. You can try to use some programs to copy ISO to DVD such as Leawo Blu-ray Copy or Windows Disc Image Burner. Microsoft has included a default feature of burning ISO files to DVD disc.

The problem I think is with the burner on your pc. Try re burning on another program like Nero and pay attention to the options. It will ask you if you wish to play disc in all types of players.

If it has the RCA (Red,White,Yellow) ports you will have to use those. In that case if you are using something like a DVD player that only has HDMI output you will need a special cable that goes from RCA to HDMI. Here is a quick link for you to reference.
