When turned off for the night, it takes forever

Hi,
Maybe your monitor's having trouble getting power. Try plugging it out, and then in again. If that's not working, call you're monitor's manufacturer (if you don't know the number, try searching on the internet). Or maybe that's not the case. Maybe your PC takes time sending the signal to monitor. Call the computer's manufacturer (if you don't know the number, try searching on the internet). Hope that helps,
Daniel

A friend who went overseas gave me this type C593.

No sync could mean the computer is generating signal at a frequency that cannot be supported by the monitor. As soon as Windows starts to boot, press F8 to display the boot menu. One of the choices will be VGA mode. Select it, boot into Windows, then set your resolution/refresh low. Reboot into normal Windows mode. If you now get display, then set the resolution/frequency to your liking (as long as supported by your monitor).

I have a Microtek 17 in monitor and recently it

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

How can I download free audio driver for microtek

Monitor does not need sound driver, just think of it as nothing more than powered PC speakers mounted inside monitor case. You need correct sound card driver in the PC to get sound.
Testing monitor speakers: use an MP3 player to feed to monitor audio line input (Green jack) using audio cable with mini stereo male phone jack at both ends (try Radio Shack) , set the volume on the monitor half way. If you get the sound OK, then the problem is in the PC setup.

Does it need a driver?...

If you run WIndows 7, yes. Otherwise make sure your video card has correct driver installed.

I have no problem with my C893 monitor. I would

The manual for this monitor lists its native resolution as 1280X1024. At resolutions below this, display quality may suffer because the image may not line up with the pixels of the display. This resolution may not be supported by the integrated video in many computers.

The other settings (color temperature, brightness, etc.) are based on your personal preference. Whatever looks good to you is the "best".

Monitor wont go on when the tower is on.

A few steps you can do to try to remedy this:

1. Is the monitor on? Sounds simple, but it's happened to me before! 8)

2. Try another monitor. If it works fine, then it is clearly your monitor that is the problem, and not the graphics card in your computer.

3. If it is your monitor, try using another signal cable or another power cable. Unfortunately, if neither of these solves the issue, the problem is most likely within the monitor, and will not be easy to fix (read: you will most likely have to replace the monitor).

Good luck!

I plugged the wrong voltage cord into the monitor,

You may have shorted out the AC plug. You'll need to test it for continuity by using a voltmeter.

If it is shorted out, then you'll need to have the plug replaced.

I purchased my Microtek ScanMaker

First connect your scanner to computer with usb cable.
Then insert disk in rom then install driver and software from disk.
It is not matter that first you connect scanner or install driver but if you connect scanner first your computer recognized it then you can install driver from disk.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.
