The arcing that caused the fire also caused the microwave generator be over loaded and sent stray voltage into the chassis. Microwaves MUST have the proper coating in the oven or aching will occur all the time. IF the coating is damaged and it can be damaged in areas that you cannot see, you will be money and heartache ahead if you replace the whole thing now.

Your membrane keypad has failed, and in this case, it's a pretty simple thing for the average do-it-yourselfer to fix.

over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Then you disconnect the keypad strip from the circuit board, as shown in the photo below.
Next, move your circuit board to the new control panel frame, reconnect everything, and you're done.

My Maytag MMV1153BAW Microwave
There are three micro switches inside the latch assembly. One of these absolutely prevents the possibility of the Magnetron being energized while the door is open. The way it works is if the door is open and the Magnetron is energized, it will act as a direct short circuit and that will blow the fuse. It works very well, unfortunately, that tremendous surge of current ruins the microswitch. Replace the switch. You will find this same information on the instruction sheet inside the cabinet.
