Magic Chef Dryer MCSDRY35W Compact Dryer turns on with heat and then shuts off within 5 minutes. Started today. The only things I have done are look up poblem on line and looked at potential prices.

problem: Check the Ventilation: Ensure that the dryer's exhaust vent is not blocked or obstructed. Proper ventilation is crucial for efficient drying and preventing overheating. Clear any lint buildup or debris from the vent. Overheating Protection: The dryer may be shutting off due to overheating. Check if the unit feels excessively hot during operation. If it does, the thermal fuse or thermostat might be tripping. These safety features prevent the dryer from overheating. If they are faulty, the dryer will shut down. You may need to replace them. Load Size and Type: Make sure you're not overloading the dryer. Excessive load can strain the motor and cause it to shut off. Also, consider the fabric type. Delicate fabrics might trigger the safety features if the heat is too high. Power Supply and Cord: Confirm that the dryer is properly plugged into a grounded outlet. Check the power cord for any damage or loose connections. Avoid using extension cords, as they can affect performance. Timer and Settings: Verify that the timer is set correctly. If the timer runs out, the dryer will stop. Also, ensure you've selected the appropriate heat setting (low, medium, or high) based on the fabric type. User Manual: Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on operating and troubleshooting your dryer. If the issue persists after checking these points, consider contacting Magic Chef Customer Service at 1-888-775-0202 for further assistance.

Magic Chef Dryer model MCSDRY35W. Where can I find the thermal fuse on it please?

This says it has two. One is always on the heater box, the other one is described as 'Air Exhaust Thermal Breaker', so would suggest just after the heater box and before the drum. https://www.washerpartsworld.com/brands/magic-chef/mcsdry35w It may also have one that looks like this. Test all the parts with a multimeter, don't blindly replace them.. https://www.partselect.com/PS11741460-Whirlpool-WP3392519-Dryer-Thermal-Fuse.htm?SourceCode=18 ..

Magic Chef gas dryer model CYG3005AWW buzzes but doesn't start.

Question edited for clarity. That is indicative of a failed Start/Run capacitor. Because it is gas, you need an engineer to visit and replace..

MCSDRY1S Portable Magic Chef Dryer not heating up? Think it’s the thermal fuse but can’t find it.

first off the thermal fuse would shut the machine down completely.. check these instead ELECTRICDryer no heat or little heat, or shuts down to fast: Checkyour venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it) Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuityit should showOHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defectiveor has a short if its grounding out? Which in turns causes blown fuses or thermostats or overheating. The heating elements are located inside the heater ducts. If you think a heating element is faulty, test it with avolt-ohm-multimeter(VOM)set to the RX1 scaleat 20K ohms. Disconnect the leads from the power terminals and clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal. The meter should read about 12. (1200)ohms.If the reading is higherohms, the heater is faulty and should be replaced. Replace a faulty heater with a new one of the same type and electrical rating. A heater connected to a 115-volt line usually has an 8.4-ohm resistance; a heater connected to a 220-volt line usually has 11 ohms resistance. Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,OR?you may have a broken centrifugal switch in the motor because this switch activates the motor and the heater as well. supposedto be if the motor does not run, the heater should not heat in order not to createafire but ifthe motor is not running, andthe heater is still heating, then there could be a problem with the motor centrifugal switch that is connected to this interlock switch that should trigger the heater. Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats. For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement. In somedryer'sthecontrol panel relies on athermistorrather than aCYCLING thermostatto regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when thethermistorindicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drumthis is why in some cases the dryer will operate at lower cycles like gentle or low heat but not at higher settings?) Lastly check your moister sensor.( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shutdown early and clothesare still wet. Test with a meterat room temperatureand it should show continuity. A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run timein the automatic moisture sensing cyclebut it will not affect the heatingof the dryer or the timed cycle.Which are reflected by the thermostats. I have a Magic Chef compact dryer, Model MCSDRY1S. The exhaust vent shroud, Part # GYJSL4680902B, no longer stays in place.

TRY TO IMAGINE TAPE OR TRY PAINTER'S TAPE TO SEE IF THE IDEA MAY KEEP SHROUD IN PLACE. IF YES, REMOVE TAPE AS IT MAY CATCH FIRE. BE EXTRA SAFETY CONSCIOUS - BUY SAFE TAPE. BUY SMALL ROLL OF ALUMINUM TAPE, WITH ONE SIDE STICKY, TO USE IN PLACE OF OTHER TAPES. CONSIDER DOLLAR STORE OR AUTO SUPPLY TAPE.

Magic Chef dryer was drying fine but now it cuts on for like 10 mins and then cuts off. Still sounding calm and quiet. what can I do or should do?

MODEL number... gas/electric would help GREATLY. Hello Chris Huff , MY very first recommendation would be to disconnect the power... and the air vent at the machine. Carefully run your hand into the machine and feel for any BLOCKAGE... lint, missing socks, snakes, hamsters ... (etc.). If the VENT is CLEAR try running the machine with a SMALL LOAD to see if you are getting past that "10 mins" you described ... ** (supervised operation with door or window OPEN). If the machine acts MORE NORMAL suspect your wall vent is the TROUBLE (needs cleaning or replacement). This is a very common cause of HOUSE FIRES... So DO NOT pretend things are "better"...\ Make sure...!! or hire a PROFESSIONAL VENT CLEANER Blocked vent will cause excessive heat... HIGH temp thermostat will stop machine for life & safety reasons. SERIOUSLY...!!

The air flow housing under lint filter in door is most likely obstructed with lint or debris, or your fan that moves air is worn out.

Does not heat up

Dear Ken ,I am pretty certain you are not getting a full flame of gas to heat and dry your clothes, but as for the reason for that, here we go. Since gas is such touchy stuff, and so very dangerous, please have a gas company check to see if you have enough gas pressure to your machine., and see if your "igniter" is working. (You may have a pilot light or an electrical igniter to start the flame.) If all that is in order, you may have a problem with some other part of the machine, specifically one of the overheat thermostats or an accumulation of lint. My daughter had a machine like yours, and the air impeller was broken, the lint had plugged up the internal tubes, and one of the safety thermostats had popped. Check the thermostats with an electric tester, and clean the pipes with your hands and tools. God bless youre efforts.

Magic chef dryer don't turn on at all, it was working then it just cut off and won't start back up.

Electric dryer no start does nothing Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. CHECK THERMAL SHUT OFF THERMOSTAT USUALLY LOCATED ON THE BLOWER. for OHMS or resistance with a meter. Should show a closed circuit. Ohms WHEN THIS FUSE BLOWS IT WILL SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING. NEXT Test the PUSH start switch with meter for OHMS. Should show OHMS when pushed in or on start, and no ohms or infinity when in off position. If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor. Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay/capacitor on motor. Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings Another thing to check is the belt safety switch. With a multi meter. Especially if u just replaced the belt. The belt safety switch is attached to the Tensioner and motor. IT LOOKS LIKE A DOOR SWITCH SOMEWHAT a little black pc of plastic with 2 prongs going into it. Sits at bottom of motor. Under the Tensioner. Attach meter clips to the 2 prongs on switch, Then when the little white push button is pressed in it should show continuity and none when released. Lastly check ur DOOR SWITCH for continuity with a meter when the button is pushed in the (on/Door closed position,) it may have gone bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTRP6kHqAFs Hey GOD IS GOOD !!!!
