Hey Anon The transducer installation is more important than anything.. next to correct wiring! You must make sure the mounting is good,,, if its outside the hull, make sure its sitting 1/16th below the hull with no obstructions.. if its inside the hull, the medium you used to fix the puck to the hull must be porosity free and the puck sitting as level with the WATER as possible.. Now, take the manual to the lake with you and DO NOTHING but read the manual and apply what you read to the unit,,, read -repeat - read-repeat.. forget about fishing... now read-repeat and learn... IF nothing seems to be reading correctly.. its probably the transducer installation.. YOU DID use a/the transducer specifically for this unit!!

Hey Robert, the blinking is usually the result of the transducer losing contact with the water.. As far as the screen getting hot.. that is not good.. do you have this unit mounted in dash? Make sure you have the settings correct.. sometimes mine decides I live 250 miles away..in another state.. I reset it and its fine..?????

Hey Les, Since you have replace both the unit and transducer, you have eliminated/diagnosed most of your problem.. Its in the wiring... sometime when I am in full GPS mode I get erroneous depth readings..?? Hey Tingo, I have two 113's,, the problem sounds like the transducer is going bad,, Try this.. unplug all your connections,, replug them and see if it helps... Don't get me started on $$$ updates....

Hey Raymond,, Are you reading this when you are at home or in/on the water? Is your transducer in the hull or outside? Do you have the correct transducer? Please check these and reply back to me..Thanks!!

Its not the scale,, its the settings.. are you using a Navionics card or the built in map... there is a setting to tell the unit which one you are using.. the navionics card needs to be told what section of the USA you are in. Sometimes mine decides I am in North Georgia..(never been fishing there!?).. I have to set it back to sweet home Alabama. Hope this helps..
