Why does it stop running after two mins and has an error code of OE?

The OE or Overflow Error code. The water inlet valve is an electrically-controlled valve that opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. Depending on the model, the valve stays open either for a set length of time or until the dishwasher has enough water. However, if the water inlet valve doesn't shut off after the dishwasher has enough water, the dishwasher will overflow. If water drips into the dishwasher when the door is open, or if water collects at the bottom of the dishwasher while it is not use, you may need to replace the water inlet valve.

What does it mean when

Guy , you're all right except for one detail. You must think as the machine does. The machine "thinks" the water level is to high, it is not necessarly. I got a FE error on a LDS5540ST and the problem was simply the floats that activate the limit switch that monitor the water level. The module was simply ful of normal mud-junk-scrap that you would normaly excpet in any dishwasher. Simply open the float module , wash the junk , Voila. Cost 0$

The kenmore dishwasher stopped mid-cycle with

Washers do not have a thermal fuse that is dryers. More than likely the washer control panel is defective, have a tech come out and confirm that.

How do I reset e1 error code on LG dishwasher after kid puts dish soap in the machine?

The suds may have caused water to run down into the pan under the unit. Take the front kick panel off and look for water under the unit and in the catch pan.
