Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 working fine, but Windows 11 wont recognise it. Any ideas please?
If your Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 camera is working fine but is not being recognized by Windows 11, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check the USB cable: Make sure that the USB cable you are using is properly connected to both the camera and the computer. Try using a different USB cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Check the USB port: Try connecting the camera to a different USB port on your computer to see if the port is the issue. Some USB ports may not have enough power to detect the camera.
- Install the camera driver: If the camera did not come with a driver disc, try downloading and installing the driver from the manufacturer's website. Make sure to download the correct driver for your camera model and operating system.
- Restart the computer: Sometimes, restarting the computer can help to resolve issues with USB devices not being recognized.
- Try a different computer: If the above steps do not work, try connecting the camera to a different computer to see if the issue is with the camera or the computer.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it is possible that there may be a hardware problem with the camera. In that case, it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for further assistance.

I have a damaged LCD
Consider the following: Minolta closed their camera division in 2004, and sold the operation to Sony. That's also why the later Minolta lenses are compatible with Sony DSLRs (Minolta AF mount).
However, this meant that Minolta cameras were also automatically rendered obsolete, with no new spares being manufactured / supplied. (I know, I still own some Minolta cameras and have been down this road)
Now, I'm sure you can see how slim the chances are of getting any spares for the camera in question, especially a humble Point and Shoot.
It's time to aquire something newer (imho).

Yipes - seems that electronics have developed a nind of their own. Check with the manufacturer, if manual has no mention, of a reset switch or hidden code that will reset unit to factory defaults. Cross your fingers.
Can it be repaired?
As we have no idea where you are located, we cannot tell you where the 'nearest' centre for repairs may be. It is verging on the impossible to have such old technology repaired anyway, no matter how much you like it, as the spares and technicians are no long available.
Built-in Battery
get new battery put it in camera and set settings again, but first try charging the battery, this might be all it needs, hope this helps.
From the start, the camera has been very heavy on
First of all, referencing a 'previous mail' is of little use - at Fixya, posts are made on forums when requesting assistance.
Secondly, you say 'even re-chargeable batteries' - not all re-chargeable batteries are alike. Many people recommend the use of 2500mAh re-chargeable batteries to provide power to cameras.
Thirdly, I cannot comment on the suggestion there may be a fault with this particular model - a Google search may provide more information on this matter.
