How do i un-jam my camera ?

You may have the wrong battery, not fully charged battery or battery is not in correctly. There should be a reset button on your camera. Try holding it down for 30 secs then release. If these solutions do not work: take your camera back to where you bought it. Could be defective (crash of internal computer)

How to initalize a new photo card

In the setup menu (wrench logo) first page second line is format. Click on that and then answer the question Format? with yes. That is all. New cards, but also cards used in other cameras, should be formatted, before you start shooting pictures.

Blurred LCD screen = Blurred taken picture

Still I think your CCD or CMOS sensor is damaged. The viewfinder, is just a set of lenses, where you can see through. It has no connection with the sensor. These type of camera's also use the sensor to focus. The sensor needs things with some contrast, where it should focus. But when the sensor is not working correct, the camera can't focus, or take a sharp picture. On your screen you just see what the sensor can record. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think it is worth repairing the camera, because this will cost more than you pay for a new camera, with better specs. Sorry I can't help you with this.

Red light flashes but camera will not stay on

When the red LED goes on. the batteries are empty. When the LED is flashing, it is even worse. Your camera will work with AA batteries. Always be sure the batteries are charged. Insert the batteries correct plus to plus and minus to minus. Only one battery the wrong way around and the camera won't work. Check contacts of the batteries and in the battery compartment of your camera. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything in or on your camera. Always charge the batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period. Also check if the battery door is closed correct. Most cameras do have a switch connected to the battery door. If the switch does not work correct, it could be you can't switch on your camera. Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In most cases, alkaline batteries have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended. Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera. They can't deliver enough power and can start leaking, causing damage to your camera.
