Gasket
Undo the screw in the middle of the grille where coffee is brewed, under that there are 2x allen head screws. Take them out and lever that circular aluminium disk vigorously until it comes free. It will be very very tight, once you have it out you will be able to lever out the huge group gasket. Clean everything and reassemble, holes in that aluminium disk will be quite blocked and may need to be drilled to clean them. Don't do the grille screw up too tight, it only makes it harder next time.
Steam Boiler not heating up
Check the 2 thermal fuses on the top of the boiler, if they are blown replace them and the thermostat. While you are at it replace the seals in the steam boiler, there are 5 of them in that boiler. If the fuses aren't blown check the element for continuity, sometimes one will fail.
Kitchenaid espresso machine tripping switches
Relay will be fine if you fix the real problem. Get some new seals (5 of them) into the steam boiler and check for leaks from the teflon tube at the top of the steam boiler. When you have it apart tip it upside down, you will be surprised how much hidden water there is.
Cleaning/Servicing
Yes there is a philips head screw through the centre of the grille and under that there are 2 allen head cap screws. Once they are out you can remove the circular aluminiun disk in the middle. It is sometimes bloody hard to shift after the cap screws are out. Clean everything with scraper and wire brush and assemble. Replace brew head seal while you are there.
My Kitchen Aid Pro Line Espresso Machine has stopped heating the water on the espresso side. It still pumps, but it is not hot. The steamer side works fine.
Hi I have posted a service manual and a parts list herehttps://rapidshare.com/files/655646388/kitenaid_service_manual_5KES100.pdfhttps://rapidshare.com/files/2923830445/Kitchenaid_5KES100_Repair_Part_List_-_8212198.pdfIt sounds like the boiler element or maybe the thermostat. You have to take the top part of the machine off to get a good look at the water boiler.I have uploaded a not very good strip guide that I got from the internet, I have used it but it makes thing overly complicated to my mind, but here it is anyway.https://rapidshare.com/files/3189994876/KES100_strip_guide.zipIt has written instruction that relate to two diagrams in the PDF.
