you will have to fit a relay into the system. Tap a wire into the high beam power wire for the headlights. (Piggy back connection) take this wire down to the fitted relay to a coil pin on the relay. connect a wire to the other coil pin of the relay and return to the dash area to an control switch through it then to an earth point.. Run a wire to an inline fuse directly from the battery ( fuse close to the battery as it is a high current line) down to one pin of the relay. connect up the power wire for the light to the opposite pin on the relay and connect the earth wire of the light to an earth point
According to road regulations you cannot have spot lights on by them selves and they must only operate in conjunction with high beam operation.. The setup as I describe allows you control of when the spotlights will be on ( switch in the dash) and if on will be extinguished when low beam is selected as per regulations. The relay ensures that the trigger wires do not carry full light amperage so light gauge wires can be used and only the power wire from the battery to the relay to the light need to be heavier gauge.
In the 2008 Kia Sportage, the purge evacuation (EVAP) solenoid is typically located near the charcoal canister. The exact location may vary slightly depending on the specific engine configuration and optional equipment, but here is a general guideline:
Locate the Charcoal Canister: The charcoal canister is a component of the EVAP system and is responsible for storing fuel vapors. It is usually located in the rear of the vehicle, near the fuel tank or in the engine compartment. The canister is a cylindrical or rectangular-shaped container.
Find the EVAP Solenoid: Once you have located the charcoal canister, look for a smaller component connected to it. This component is the purge evacuation (EVAP) solenoid. It is typically a small plastic or metal device with electrical connectors and vacuum hoses.
Follow the Hoses and Wires: Trace the vacuum hoses and electrical wires connected to the charcoal canister to locate the EVAP solenoid. The solenoid may be connected directly to the canister or positioned nearby.
Please note that the exact location of the EVAP solenoid may vary slightly depending on the specific engine and emission system layout of your 2008 Kia Sportage. Consulting the vehicle's service manual or contacting a Kia dealership may provide more accurate and detailed information tailored to your specific model.
It's important to exercise caution when working with the EVAP system and its components, as they are part of the vehicle's emission control system. If you are unsure or uncomfortable performing the task yourself, it's recommended to seek assistance from a qualified technician or a reputable automotive service center. They have the expertise and tools to locate and service the EVAP solenoid properly.
what country the books are by country (and car)
D4CB<< engine real name. 2.5L diesel series A-mark1 this year.
3.5L gas only sold in USA so zero books here or parts. zip for 2.5L
buy the manual in our secret country and tell it too so you might luck out.
none here.
sorry
ask maker for book there
or google to find sellers world wide
or use ebay in your country and find books to match. (not easy)
THAT IS CALLED A DEAD STARTER OR NO CRANK . condition. period.
6 TO 10- CAUSES of dead starter.
WHAT WORDS AND GOALS (stages)
CRANKS (key to start/crank) or button start /stop pushed for start.
STARTS (loud cranking heard if engine is dead)_
AND RUNS (grins)
AND STAYS RUNNING, (bliss)
IN THAT ORDER ONLY, MY CAR PUSH STARTS SO GOES FROM PUSH TO RUNS,. JUST 2 STEPS(stick shift bliss this) M/Tbox.
when kid 15yo id park on a hill and do rolling starts. 3 speed manual box then./
turns over means zero, (turns = spins the starter spins and if lucky the engine crank shaft spins or turns and if lucky starts.
turns never means runs. ever. it is called RUNNING.
some call running at idle others (old) say engine ticks over.
yes heard all the slang but do avoid TURNS. and OVER.()roger over and out)

I just fixed my neighbors, the hood knows i diagnose cars for free, retired me.
her car the battery reads, 10.7vDC (truth here is only discharged)
2020 Nissan.
head lamps bright, proves nothing here. at all (unless fully dead lamps)
the battery pushes 5 amps to head lamp but can not muster 100amps to the starter. so starter is dead or after 10 tries. tiny clicks heard under hood.
I see dash lamp dim a bit at crank attempts, a huge clue there.
causes. are: in order.
including lies the BCM dash lamp tells. (key IMMO failure lamp glows)
a huge lie there, 2020 car, and I know why the 10.7vdc battery causes most computers on board to lie or be dead.
(fast forward, only here the battery is dead. and no DTC ever stored, after cure.
PCM OBD2 jack we scan the under dash jack, shows comms dead, CAN_bus dead (her car)
and expected by me. (took 20min after my full charge the cars electronics to work again, ) NOTE THE DELAY.
now your causes all and in order
battery lugs, loose or rusty or both
no battery ever lasted 17 years, so is on 2 or 3 battery now. or due for 3rd !!!!!
on the gals car above the tag top-o-bat reads 2020 see? I always look at tags.
battery lugs ok, and clean', battery not 7 years old or more.
battery voltage not 10v but 12.6vdc , rested 1hr. is it? if not charge it.we ran a 75ft extension from her house to street to charge it. with my charger.
or drag the battery to the work bench and charge it. or to any shop, say test it. this battery in hand,.. (way cheaper than any tow truck) or jump start it.
my load bank test shows hard failure, even no load, and BAD shows on dial loaded, but the battery in here car is good, and fails this test.
next up, charged, the IMMO key lamp must not show failing key,we tried both. keys.
starter relay bad.
PRNDL fails at start in Park and Reverse both, or just park. bingo SOLVED
the starter is bad, even hot wired it fails keys not near car.
simple failures here, just a starter not the 50causes of engine failure.

Question edited for clarity, year make model first and Codes are P-Zero and not P-letter Oh.
Question moved to model category.
Yes, if the crankshaft position sensor fails, the engine doesn't know when to fire the spark. Buy a quality OEM sensor and not a junk copy from Mexico. It is worth paying for a good one.
main bearings torque is 18 ft lbs. plus 90 - 94 degrees, rod bearings torque is 13 - 16 ft lbs. plus 90 - 94 degrees.crankshaft damper bolt torque 80 - 94 ft lbs, fly wheel bolts torques 94 - 101 ft lbs.
Hi Steve , didn't check fuses (all ) yet
check all wiring touched by you and those connectors re-seated.
one injectors is stuck on. it seems.s shorted harness top one.
or cam timing completely wrong
its not the PCM at all. sure. for sure.
the new levers HLA cannot just be thrown in;
they are primed first.
the service manual covers all that.
HLA and cam timing.
scan the OBD2 port for DTC errors.
this v6 has 3 COP coils
and x3 HV park wires that must not be ever mixed up ,must be in proper firing order.
to do all that that , the 1st step is pull battery neg lug .or damage can happen or if lucky only fuse blew.
next time try to do the job as 4 jobs
and start and test engine after each one.
timing belt DOHC v6
spark plugs
and fuel injectors.
HLA
from simple to more hard. order, your call your down time.
then when it fails the cure is 4 times more easy to know.
read the SM yet, per this? super tricky timing,
cam locker tools help.
well all cars end up like this, for sure not doing service points per the makers guild.
so it is NOT a NO START (50 causes)
it is a DEAD starter called CRANKING is dead. 6-8 causes.
we we have posted the answer here 100 times. googling gets millions.
well first is the drivers seat you look at the dash cluster
for IMMO lamp errors. (security key errors ) if yes BINGO all in 1 second flat you see the IMMO is not happy, engine immoblizer is glowing DEAD WRONG.
per the users guide now lost>
IMMO not happy, fix that, first (users guide page 3-8)
battery cables loose or rusty lugs or gee both. sure this old. sure;.
the battery that old is NEVER GOOD ,ever. in fact on 2nd battery and now it died too and gee even INTERMITTANT batteries happen EASY (common)_
key switch bad.
starter relay bad
no transmisssion told (auto or stick) but PRNDL bad but amazing it cranks in neutral tried, (per users guide) or if STICK, clutch switch bad.
starter bad. (it can be hot wired, keys in pocket safely , ask how.
if the starter motor is dead (no crank) how can you say the battery is good.
IDK. elaborate that?. new, and charged and fully load tested is the answer
3-8
