If the unit was laid down during transit, you may have caused damage to the inner works of the sealed system. Usually not worth it to repair it, sorry.

If this is a self defrosting freeze,then it is normal to periodically see an elevated reading during a defrost cycle. At 20 degrees, it was probably ready to complete its defrost cycle and come back on to return it to your cold setting.

Power outages would not make a difference, but dust on the compressor coils would. The best way is to vacuum the coils and then spray with soapy liquid making sure not to spray anything electrical.

Best thing to do first is get a thermometer to be sure the temperature is correct. Items still freeze at higher temperatures. If you have ice cream and it is soft, then you have a temp problem.

Try disconnecting power for about 30 seconds, and then restore power. This will reboot the control and maybe restart.

Sometimes when the power comes back on you get a power spike or low voltage, this can damage electrical components.

The hot sides is normal, this is how they expel the heat from inside the freezer, sometimes it may help to use a fan to help cool. Also make sure there is about 12" of room around all sides of the freezer .

It is in a defrost cycle if you wait for around 30 min.
it should come back on
