Smoke coming out of subs

If smoke has come out of the subwoofer, the speaker itself, that means the voice coils have been heated excessively and they are damaged or in this case, I'd say completely blown. Voice coils blow because they've been driven too hard, too much power, too much distortion for too long.

If you can get access to the front of the subwoofer speakers, gently put even pressure with your fingers near the middle of the cone, just around the edge of the centre dust cap and push gently and slightly inwards. If you hear or feel a "scratchy" type sound or feel, or if they dont move in freely, they are blown. And if that's the case, your amp could be damaged as well.

Most modern car amps have circuit protection and will shut down when they detect a load greater than they are used to so the amp MAY be ok. One way to test the amp is to hook another speaker to it, any speaker as a test is ok, and see if sound comes out. Make sure all power is off when connecting and disconnecting speakers!

My Jensen radio works only at high volume whenever I hit bumps on the road it cuts off only one side of the speakers are the only ones that are working

Check the ground wire to the radio and speaker because it is probably loose. You may have to solder your connections to the radio and speakers.

Tuning in to TV with wireless headphones

I need more info on this. What type of tuner and receiver? Is the tuner plugged into the headphone jack on the tv? If you have a tuner for tv that tunes in channels 2,3,5,12,25,60 etc that would be an older tuner that used the older NTSC standard. Tv stations now broadcast using ATSC, channel 4,1, 4.2 etc.

Instructions for jensen jcr-425 clock radio, how to set clock

To preset a channel on the JCR-425, you tune in the channel; press the "AL/MEM" button on top of the radio (at which time you will probably be switched to some other radio frequency, which is rather disconcerting), press the "Up" or "Down" button to select the desired preset channel number, press "Set" -- and only then are you returned to your desired radio station. If you want to preset several channels, You might then think that the next time you turn on the radio that all you would have to do is press one of the 10 preset channel buttons on the front of the radio to visit one of your preset radio stations. You would be wrong. You must turn on the radio, then press the "AL/MEM" button on top of the radio. Only then can you access your preset radio stations. You might also think that to turn on the radio you would press a button that says "Power." Wrong. You press a button that says "Radio." Well, okay. But you might think that to turn it off, you would just press the "Radio" button again. Wrong. If you have pressed the "AL/MEM" button to access your preprogrammed channels, pressing the "Radio" button simply takes you out of the "AL/MEM" function and back to the "FM" (or "AM") function, apparently taking you back to the last radio station you tuned in manually. To turn off the radio after accessing a preset channel, you must press "Radio" twice.
