no_PU = No power unit. 24Vdc is being supplied to the control card with no AC voltage (230 or 400) being supplied to L1/L2/L3. Verify AC voltage is present at L1/L2/L3. *If not present, apply voltage and no_PU should clear. *If present and unit still no_PU, there is a problem with the power stage. At that point unit should be replaced or repaired.

It is normal to use only half of the capacity of a battery and this is called 50% depth of discharge (DOD) so the watts of a battery is volt X amp hours eg a 12 volt bat @ 200 AH would be 2400 watts but you can only use half of that other wise the battery will be stuffed, so all you have is 1200 watts, if you have a 400 AH battery you would have 2400 watts, you also have to know the capacity of the battery and this is call the C rating of the battery once you have that you can work out how many hours it will run for. On an of grid system I would not use any less than 6oo to 700 AH @ C100 It is normal to size the batters to energy demand in KWHrs per day of (AC load ) Hope this help.

The first thing I would check is to make sure that the polarity is correct... IE: That you have red connected to positive and black to negative, assuming you're connecting it to a battery that is. Many inverters will actually self-destruct if the polarity is backwards... But some of the better ones will beep instead.

With out knowing what the error codes are that are being displayed, it is impossible to provide a solution.

Verify the mains voltage at terminals L1/L2/L3. If it is present but the inverter does not power up, there is most likely an internal problem. What is the part# of the unit in question?

I like to ask, is the voltage from the solar panel messure with some load connected or is open circuit, normally solar panels produce high voltage than the working system, the reasson for that is to have Amperes in of to charge the batery, these is related to the size and power generated by the panel.
No need a resistor or in any case use a voltage regulator to prevent over charge.

Check the fuses on the internal circuit board. If the unit is new, the shipping insulator may still be in place.

They always have products for customers and people to help you in these situation. If you still have owners Manuel there should be information on it with numbers you can call for someone to assist you in this matter. Depends on the inverter, they have wattage ratings that vary.

not knowing model number its impossible for me to determine if your inverter has a battery charger , not all do some require a external one , most charge off aux engine alternator this same engine also makes compressed air and hydraulic power for controls and steering , mid size boats use one engine for all this plus main drive , larger ones use a separate engine for these functions (safer)
