I have a C5180 all in one printer that has been used on an Apple system. I'm trying to install on a Win 7 64 bit and the printer keeps cycling and shutting off

Before jumping into resolving the issue, assuming a technical failure, make sure the Auto-off feature on your printer is not enabled. This feature, in order to save power, turns off the printer automatically after a set period of inactivity.1 Check the Scheduled On and Off or the Auto Power Off feature on the control panel of the printer.2 Alternately, you can check the feature through the printer software installed on your Windows operating system. Open HP Printer Assistant, and give a double-click on the Maintain your printer option.3 Click the Advanced Settings tab in the Toolbox window. Change the settings if necessary and follow the prompts on the screen. When you are sure that the Auto-off feature is not the cause, try carrying out the steps given below.1. Restart your printer• Turn on the printer and give it some time to become silent.• Unplug the power cord from the printer. The printer should be turned on while unplugging the cord.• Remove the power cord from the electrical wall outlet.• Wait for at least a minute and reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and to the printer's rear.• Turn the printer on if it does not automatically turn on.• Wait until the printer is idle and check if the issue is resolved. • If the printer shutsdown again, continue with the steps.2. Update the printer firmware• Check if the printer is properly connected to your computer.• Go the manufacturer's website and click Printer.• Enter the printer model and click Submit.• Select the version of your operating system and click Change.• Select Firmware and click Download. If you do not see a firmware section, there is no update for your printer.• Save the downloaded file to a storage location on your computer and run the files.• Look for the printer's serial number in the HP Printer Update window. • If the printer's serial number is displayed, click the checkbox against it. Click Cancel if the status is 'not applicable'. If you have set up the printer on a wireless network and the serial number is not displayed, connect the printer and your computer using a USB cable, wait for about 20 seconds and Click Refresh. Once the printer's serial number is displayed, select the checkbox beside it and click Update.• Click OK once the update is complete.• Remove the USB driver installed on your Windowsif you have connected a USB cable to update your network printer.3. Make sure the printer is directly plugged into the power outlet• Turn the printeroff.• Unplug the printer power cord from the power strip or surge suppressor.• Check for any wear or damage in the power cord.• Wait for at least 30 seconds and plug the power cord directly into electrical wall outlet.• Power on the printer.4. Check if other devices are not causing the issue• Disconnect the USB hub from the printer and connect the USB cable directly to the printer and computer.• Remove any memory card or USB drives from the printer.• Restart the printer.5. Connect the printer to a different electrical outletUnplug the power cord from the printer and an electrical wall outlet, and reconnect it to another electrical outlet.6. Try replacing your power module7. Service your printer If all the preceding steps did not help, contact your manufacturer to get your printer serviced. for HP Printer support Call Our Toll Free 1-866-293-9220 or visit 123 hp com setup Support Free Driver Download 123 hp com Wireless

HP c5180 printer paper jam error

Please try these general troubleshooting steps for paper jam issue: Turn off your printer to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely. Remove the rear access door and check the pressure rollers. Verify that they are clean and clean the rollers with a soft towel if needed. Check if there is any jammed paper in this section and remove the jammed paper from the rear access door opening. Make sure that there are no torn pieces of paper in the fuser area and duplexer slot. Check if the carriage moves freely. Use both your hands to remove the paper that is stuck in the roller in order to avoid tearing of the sheet. Discard any paper that is damaged, and then reload the paper into the paper tray. Unlock the print cartridge access door. Check if there is any packaging material or paper debris stuck on the small metal pressure rollers that ride on the main feed roller. Do not mix different types of paper. Load only one type of paper for a print job. Make sure that the paper meets the paper-handling specifications. Slide the paper-length adjuster against the end of the paper stack and do not overfill the input tray. Connect the power cord and turn on your printer. Try to print a sample and if the error persists, then try to reset the printer. Try to update the driver. If nothing works, then service the printer. 123 HP COM Setup Printer Quick Setup and Install Support

How can i take apart my photosmart 8050

Good advice. Don't mess with it. Lots of folks take printers apart thinking they can fix them and in the end they have a pile of printer parts that end up in the trash. Printers are cheap and you are better off getting a new inexpensive printer. HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 $68 on Amazon.

Bonsoir, Description du pb : "Echec système

En anglais - c'est trop longtemps que je parle francais...
The code you mentioned sounds like an Ink System Failure code. My C6180 had the 0xc19a0035 Ink System Failure code, eventually the printer would power on and off every 15-20 seconds - continuously. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This fixed the on and off problem and also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other HP printers. acca299.jpg

Error code 0xb814728e

Quel soulagement !
