Stops Printing Certain Ink Colors
If a belt is displaced the print head position is out of alignment. That requires and new belt be put in place. As for colors not printing, that is not associated with the transverse mechanism, but the print cartridges and/or print head directly. You may need to replace the entire print head mechanism, or test each and every cartridge. The contacts on both the ink carts and the cart holder must be clean. Use a qtip and rubbing alcohol to gently rub over the metal contacts and let air dry. Try to use new carts when resetting the printer for best results.
I have an HP Designjet
Hi Laura.
A trick I've used from years back seems to work, if jetsare maybe blocked from dried ink.
You will need:
An old or disposable container and clean rag.
Some clean tissues.
Hot water.
Sheet of paper. Newspaper will do.
Cleaning jets:
Pour boiling hot water into container.
Dip base of cartridge 1 into water until you see an ink-cloud then remove and pat dry with clean rag.
Rest at angle on paper.
Repeat for other cartridges.
Use tissue to gently wipe any remaining water drops.
Reinsert in printer.
Regards, Clive.
Misc
Check the carriage belt is undamaged and moves freely. If you can get to the print heads, remove and check those for damage. Failing to power off may indicate a main board short.
Yellow printhead on my Designjet 3500CP isn't releasing ink
If you can access the printhead, try taking a rag with a small area heavily wet with Denatured Alcohol (this is a cleaning solution that can be purchased at Walmart or most stores with cleaning supplies. Rub the printhead thoroughly with the alcohol for a minute or two, it should help loosen any dried ink. Then try to print or run a print head clean cycle on the printer.
What is the solution to 59.51 error on HP 500 color LaserJet printer.
59 error refers to a Printer motor Error.
59.51 however should not appear on screen.
59.5 is a "Print Cartriddge motor Startup error". The last character should be a letter for which Toner (ie. C, M, Y or K). However I would suggest that the 1 would be the Black motor (seeing as it is the top one). Considering you have replaced the DC controller recently I would say the most likely cause is you have either misconnected or not connected a cable. recheck all your DC controller connections and pay particular attention to connectors J1013 (Cyan Motor), J1031 (Magenta Motor), J1032 (Yellow Motor) and J1033 (Black Motor).
OR
1. Check the cyan cartridge for broken pieces and make sure the drum spins. if so, replace the cyan cartridge
2. Check that connections on the cyan print-cartridge drive motor and on the driver PCA are seated correctly.
3. Replace the cyan print-cartridge drive motor.
4.If error persists, Replace the driver PCA.
5. Replace the main drive assembly.

If any of the troubleshooting steps listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify printer functionality (instructions listed below). If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.
NOTE: Always verify the printer's current Firmware release and upgrade as needed.
- Turn the printer off, then on to verify error. If no error attempt to verify functionality.
- If the error appears or problems persist, continue with the remaining steps.
- Turn the printer off, and disconnect the power cable.
- Remove the right end cover.
- Check both Ink Supply Station connections on the Interconnect PCA. If the unit shows the error on boot up verify that the connector with the blue wires is seated correctly (Connector P4). If the error appears when a print job is sent to it verify that the connector with the red, black and green wires is seated correctly (Connector P2).
- Reconnect the power cable and turn the printer on.
- If no error appears, attempt to verify functionality.
- If the problem persists, continue with the remaining steps.
- Replace the Ink Supply Station (refer to pg. 8-48 of the HP Designjet 500 and 800 Series Service Manual).
- Following replacement, attempt to verify functionality.
- If the error reappears, replace the Electronics module (refer to pg. 8-24 of the HP Designjet 500 and 800 Series Service Manual).
