Hotpoint LTB 4M116 door catch plate snapped. How do I remove and replace with a new catch plate
Hi there, I am from the UK so model numbers vary but all basically the same. Do not fear it is simple really.
You need to take the door from it's hinges first. It will either have screws or bolts to the door or frame of the machine.
Now you have the door dismantled and in your hands.
place upside down and you will see screws ??? they will be situated around the door ?? the door comes in two parts and the glass is sandwiched between the two parts. ( Take photo if in need ) you will see see a metal shaft and spring where your handle will fit. All the best and Happy Christmas from the UK

Hotpoint lft114 cupboard door fitting instructions
Re. your letter from F.C. about the boyfriend leaving lids off (20 February), I have a similar problem. My husband has developed the habit of leaving all doors, drawers and cupboards open. I don't want to nag, because he gets ratty when I do. I don't think I can scatter insects in all the drawers and cupboards. We are 75 and 79. Any suggestions other than an old people's home?

Why won't my hotpoint dishwasher draing the water?
Are we talking a lot or a little? If the unit is not draining at all then there might be something stuck in the drain pump impellor stopping it from turning at all, or stopping it running as quickly as it should so doesn't drain all the water. Is the drain outlet too high? This can cause the drain pump to struggle to reach the head height, also, water can run back from the drain pipework if blockage or height too high

My Hotpoint Dishwasher won't drain. It has about 2-3 of water in bottom. What can I do?
A rug cleaner or a wet dry vac are excellent choices to empty water from a dishwasher. Look at the float like device that is on a corner of the unit. Does it move freely up and down? Is it waterlogged? Carefully clean the shaft if you can reach it, otherwise move it up and down to clear the shaft. You should also hear a faint click at either end of travel. One for full and the other for empty (On drain).

HOT[PONT FWD8O DISHWASHER.
SHOWS DEMO ON
If the machine switched to demo by itself, you may have a software issue and will need a new board. Try calling Hotpoint as they will be aware of the problem. Some boards can be re-programmed, but I guess they will just replace it. Electrolux had exactly the same issue a while ago.
If YOU accidentally turned on demo,
Deactivate
Power Off at the mains.
Now press and hold the On/Off button together with the Start/Cancel button.
While pressing, power up the appliance at the mains.
Keep the buttons pressed down until 'D off' appears in the display.

I have a hotpoint slimline de luxe dishwasher
Are the spray arms turning? check for blocked jets at the very end of the spray arms, blocked with food deposits or paper from lids, or fruit pips etc.
Or may be vanes on wash pump rotor have stripped off because a piece of broken glass or pot has found its way into the pump chamber - that might account for the funny noise. If the vanes have stripped off, the motor may well turn but too fast, and not pump. sometimes you can remove the internal filters and covers to examine the pump rotor - otherwise remove the pump assembly completely and check. Not a job for the faint hearted on this model lol isolate supply and remove plug first.

My BF41 Hotpoint integrated Dishwasher seems to
I've had this issue with my thermal fuse blowing. If the water gets too hot, this will trip. If you have a meter and know how to handle yourself around electricity (power off and verified), then you can pull the liner out to get to the electronics. (I don't know the exact method for the Hotpoint). Follow the power lines and you'll find the fuse. Mine has two wires connected to tabs on a little card. If the fuse shows open on the meter, then you can get another for just a few bucks off your favorite auction site, or local appliance parts store (a few bucks more, but immediate delivery). If you have the hot water heater temp high, then you might want to make sure you don't use the "heat water" function, otherwise the fuse will blow again. Please let us know if this helps, it will benefit others in your situation.
