Honda generator starts, runs, then stalls and backfires
Honda makes quite good gasoline motors. I doubt it is a valve timing issue but it might be a burned valve or a valve adjustment issue. What does after a while mean? A couple of minutes or 4 hours? Is it running for just a short while and then stops or it runs well for a long time and then stops?
Need a manual to print out
Your compressor is most likely Campbell
Hausfeld VT series with two cylinder cast iron pump. You can find lots of information at
www.chpower.com. Click on the manuals button and just enter VT for a list of all manuals in that range. Do not worry about the exact model number because most all 5hp honda models are very
similar as they only change a bolt here and a nut there over the years. Good luck on your roofing project. If you have other questions about your compressor just post again.
Hose builds pressure and then will not spray
Hi
Look at all associated couplings on the delivery side of the receiver to ensure that air passing through
every joint/coupling and that the hose has not got collapsed walls that are compounded by air pressure.
A good tester to make up is to get 2 hose joiner ends, fit to an either a galv.or brass nipple, join together and test that there is a good flow of air from all points of delivery
Hope this helps
Cheers

My air compressor starts right
It sounds like the compressor is reaching the max psi it can hold. At this point can you use a air tool or blower? The reason it comes back on is to keep the psi at running level. It replentishes the lost or used air.
Good luck!

Engine oil
ENGINE Oil ??? what about it .. Its an oily substance that is designed to lubricate the engine while running....
Will turn over with plug outbut is very tough to
running out of fuel is a bad thing but will not cause damage. take off the ohv cover. you might have to loosen and prop the petrol tank up to aid in removal. when you have the cover off check the valve assembly and look for cracking on the arms or broken pushrod.
When is working the air
sounds like rings could be worn pretty bad. they get like like that after years of working in dusty enviroments...just a guess though. Maybe too much oil in crankcase?
