How do I fix wavy lines on Hauppauge Wintv hvr950q?
Are they wavy lines throughout the picture or are they just wavy on the side? Waving picture is usually caused by poor power supply filtering. Wavy lines throughout the picture are caused by interference. Try moving the device away from the computer with an extension USB cable it may be picking up interference from the surrounding electronic devices. It could also be defective.

Turn off win xp
Try pressing CTRL + ALT + ESC and that will start the task manager. Let's say it's Internet Explorer that is causing the problem. Just click on it and click end task. Same thing goes for your problem.
I would like to install
1. Place the applications installation file on the Desktop.
2. Right Click the applications installation file and select Properties/Compatibility Tab. Select the appropriate options from the list in the following image.
3. Click Apply/OK.
4. Right Click the file and select the Run As Administrator option to install.
rate me pls if this works

I can't seem to get my WinTV-HVR 850 to capture
The VHS players have, by design , a less stable synchronization signal output. To compensate that the tuners and the IF stages in the older tv's were designed with a special setting on the sync circuit that allowed them to react a lot faster to follow the signal. Newer tv's and equipment like your AV/tuner stick still have it but it needs to be manually activated, otherwise when the signal coming from the VHS is fed into it it's deemed corrupted and ignored.
To do that use the Composite input and configure it in the Channel Manager: select the image format (probably NTSC) and select the VCR in the Description box. If even after that you still don't get it then the stick is not sensitive enough to compensate the fluctuations in the signal. That you can't fix, you will need another one - preferably an older, second-hand one model.

I m having haupauge wintv
I went to the website but couldn't find 958 - I found 950 andn 950Q. I'll paste you the link. If you find yours, all you have to do is click on it and the installation package download comes up on the next page. Just make sure you choose the download for XP and not windows 7.
Hope this helps.
