Replace the main board

sounds like a t-con board fail, as you have described a common fault, they can go in many ways, t-con board is fitted to the back of the screen behind the metal shield, you just need to replace this part, with the same part number that the board say it is. hdmi with ps3 this is normal it all depends on the cable and the setting on the ps3 as the tv matches the signal. some cheap hdmi cables or damaged cables have been know to take longer on loads of different models.

Some newer TVs do not have the traditional "yellow" video input, known as an "AV" connection. Even without that input, you should be able to use the standard three-color Wii AV Cable that came with the system.

What to Do:

1. Look for "component" inputs on your TV. These connections have a row of five differently-colored inputs (green, blue, and red for video, white and red for audio). If you have more than one set of component inputs, it's the first set that generally works with standard AV cables. Look for a set that has a green input with yellow around it, or the word "video" just above or below it.
2. Plug the yellow end of the Wii A/V cable into this green "Y" input. Plug the white end into the audio "L" and the red into the audio "R." Leave the blue and second red holes open.

3. Turn on your Wii console and set your television to the input select being used.
4. If you are seeing the image from the Wii in black and white, try the following to get the image in color:
   • Cycle through your television's input channels (usually with the "Input Select" or "Source" button on your TV's remote control) to find the input select that has the image in color.
   • If you're only finding the image in black and white, you may need to switch the setting of the input select from a component signal to a standard AV signal. This can be done by:
     • An on screen menu option. This is often accessed by using the "Menu" button on the remote.
     • A button on the remote that switches between the standard and component signals. These can be labeled such things as "AV" or "Video."

This plasma is only a monitor meaning they do not have a tuner, so it doesn't have a cable hook up. If you want to receive over the air channels, if you live in the USA, you will need a digital converter decoder or if you have cable/satellite suscription you will need a cable/satellite decoder box to receive the channels.
The way to connect any of the mentioned devices to your plasma is to use the yellow, red and white cables to the input of the TV and select input 1 or video 1.
If you live where you can still receive over the air analog channels, a VHS should work.

You can check it by reducing the value of the resistor, connected to ground at one end of the deflection yolks' vertical scan out windings. Usually, this resistor will vary a value of 1.2 Ohms to 2.2 Ohms. But, if you reduce this value too much, to say at about 0.15 Ohms or so, there is a possibility of damaging the vertical scan output IC. So, do this very carefully. It is a trial and error process. Check it with gradual reducing this value of this resistor; by 0.25 Ohms at a time. Wish you success. I hereby advice you, assuming that the horizontal width of the picture is OK. I'm not sure what type of TV you have (Plasma, LCD, LED) but either way, these tvs works as a computer, they have different boards, (I think 5 of them, not sure). Now I'm no expert, but the problem could be the Y board, or the displays ( I forgot what is called) adapters, you see them on the edge of the TV. I'm just trying to help here with little I know, my LG TV was fixed but the display always flicker also.

You get software if any from the mfg of the set.

Best bet is to get the original so you can do all the set is able to do . Ebay has one for 15 bucks eBayeBay

You have either a screen fault or a faulty T.Con board need to go to a technician for proper diagnosis

A lot of course would depend on the brand and model number of the set and a better description of flashing.....

Do you have the correct configurations to do so? Older gear may not be compatible with the newer gear.
