that mean Communication fault between indoor and outdoor units. Some wire is cut. check wires from indoor to out door unit. Open indoor unit and check cleme open outdoor unit and check it too

Condenser coils, Air filter, blower motor - all those things needs to be checked out, then pressures of the freon level. I made a video, where everything seems to be fine, so my solution, was to install an extra timer to the unit, seemed that customer did not want to listen about thermostat setting. hope that helps You.

I just had the same problem no an hour ago. E1 showed on display, and none of the buttons on the AC worked, not even the power button.

SOLUTION:
In the past, I've noticed that my universal remote sometimes changes something on my AC when I'm trying to change something on the VCR. (My AC is in the living room.

Well, I saw that the buttons on the AC wouldn't work no matter what I do. So I go get my universal remote, press the DVD/VCR mode button at the top, then just start pressing random buttons until something happened. I've got it now. I can control everything on the AC with it:

The buttons are as follows:
rewind=power on/off
pause= timer on/off
4=low/high
5=temperature up
9=temperature down
8=fan/cool
