The battery won't start the generator. It has to

Sometimes it is more expensive to fix the problem with the generator charging system than purchase a small 12v battery charger. I would purchase a 12v small battery charger (5A) that you can keep plugged into your house hold power. This will maintain the battery at full charge so it is ready to start when you need it.

There is no way to reset it manually. It resets automatically after you run it a few hours.

Bought new XP8000e

Most people don't buy a transfer switch because they cost almost as much as the generator. Lowe's sells a very inexpensive one that will work for most people. It is made by GE and costs $92. Lowe's Item #: 42210 Model: TM860S. Good for 60 amps and 8 circuits. It takes standard GE half size breakers but includes the 60 amp main breakers (which are also standard but make use of a novel device that ensures you can't send power back up the pole). It's a great little design and if a breaker ever fails, you can get a replacement at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Have XP 8000e Generac -5 months old, Tires are

These tires are made of a hard plastic with thick sidewalls to hold the generator up. They are not repairable once the sidewalls break down and collapse. The only option is to replace them. If you're still under warranty you can get them replaced under that. Only problem is you'll get the same kind of tires, unless Generac has updated them, and have the same problem in another five to six months. Your best bet is to do some research and find some truly pneumatic or solid/foam filled tires for your generator.

XP 8000E worked for 65 hours goal time and now

Hi, if the motor works OK but there is NO power then this can only be a couple of things One, the actual Alternator itself has failed, or the electronics has.
Things to check are, Check the Circuit Breaker. Check all wiring is securely attached to the Alternator's terminals and all other wiring is all OK. Check if there is actually Voltage coming out of the alternators terminals with a volt meter, (Take the wires OFF to check) if you have voltage here then most likely the problem is within the electronics of the unit, if this is so then usually the best course of action here is to simply replace the whole thing "En Bloc" as it were.
However if you really wish to completely DIY then first one must obtain a service manual, in here are all the troubleshooting steps to isolate and repair any issues, it also has the all important parts numbers required to obtain spares. I have searched for one online but have been unable to locate any? accordingly a direct approach to the manufacturers should allow you to obtain one? or I see they are on Ebay?
If DIY isn't to be done then the very best thing you can do is to get it looked at by a professional. Contact Generac, and ask them for a referral to a local authorised service center, if worried about costs and who isn't then simply first ONLY ask for a "Quote" and once appraised of costings etc, then go from there, as to repair or replace?
