My ge front load washer fills then stops during cycle and does nothing else. It spins in the beginning then will not drain at the end
It sounds like the drain pump itself is damaged--the important clue was the humming noise. It could be bound up mechanically or the impeller could be damaged and just vibrating instead of spinning. The part number for the drain pump is WH23X10026. The fact that the pump was humming tells me that the 120v supply is being turned on by the main control board and that the wiring is good all the way to the pump. When I service customers, I try to save the pump if possible in clog cases. Most of the time, they aren't damaged from a simple clog. But, occasionally, the impeller cracks, or the nylon blade gets loose on the shaft, or the motor windings have defects from heat, etc.
Our washer fills and drains at the same time.
Hi,
Based on the limited info I'd suspect the drain hose is lying down on the floor or is pushed down into the stand-pipe too far. If the drain hose is below the water level entering the washer it will siphon out immediately. The drain hose must be above the highest point the washer has to fill, and if it is in a stand pipe insure it isn't pushed in too far, just a few inches and then secure it without completely covering over the opening or that too will cause it to siphon.
Do you hear any motor operating while this is happening ? If you answered NO, this further support's the idea of the washer siphoning out the water it is supposed to fill with. Check your drain hose.
Let me know if this was indeed the case and if so please rate the solution accordingly.
Thank's for coming to "fixya" and good luck.

From top left to right: red pin, blank blank
Middle left to right: black, white, blue
Bottom left to right: orange, yellow, purple
Top left pin (red) is positive and 1st left pin in middle (black) is negative. Straight 120v, but I don't know how to vary the speed by utilizing the other pins
