Today when I turned on my GE Profile electric wall oven, the fan started running. Why is it doing this? Will it take llonger for the oven to heat up if the fan is running?

actually it takes less time to heat up and cook with the fan running That is why it is called a fan forced oven as the fan forces the hot air all around the oven , heating it quicker and giving a better cooking result by moving hot air all around what is being cooked

While in the self-cleaning mode

Try unpluging the oven for about 5 minutes and then plug it back in. It should reset itself.

Ge oven self clean, door locked for days, f2, how do i unlock oven

F2 means it thinks the oven temperature is over 900 degrees with the door locked. You can try to cycle the power to the oven to clear the code. If that doesn't work then it could be the temperate sensor, or the relays bad or shorted out. Here is a amazon link for a relay that should look similar to what you have depending on your model #. Error code F7 keeps coming up, what does this

F1 error and beeping. Don't bother getting GE out there. Cost me $90 to learn they don't make the clock. WOuld have been $500+ for the control panel anyway. Better off just buying a new one. Planned obsolescence I guess. I won't buy GE again.

I can't get my GE range to self clean, I keep getting a F91 error whenever I try to clean.

Unfortunately, the F91 error indicates that the door lock is not functioning or the signal that the door is locked didn't get to the control unit. The range will not begin the self-clean cycle if there is a chance that you could open the oven door when the oven is dangerously hot. First try cycling the power by unplugging the range (or turning off the circuit breaker). Next check if the lock has engaged. If the lock doesn't engage, check if the mechanism is bent or binding. Next check the wiring to see there is damage that will prevent the communication between the control board or the door lock. Check for corrosion at the wiring harness connections. If the error happened after doing a self-clean, I'd suspect the door lock hadn't released. That can be related to a damaged over-temperature sensor or the lock itself. If the range has been self-cleaned before, it's possible that the lock was broken after forcing the door to open after that self-clean cycle. You may need to replace the lock, the wiring or the control board. Please add a comment with the model of your range for a parts diagram. If your range is under warranty, contact GE. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

The house that we just purchased has a GE Medallion 850 stove. Trying to use the oven, we get a digital message saying hold. Does the oven lock have to be disengaged during the cooking process?

Yes the lock must be disengaged. If you cleaned it the lock will stay locked until the oven cools down to a safe temperature.
