Meaning of "F1" in a Frigidaire Dehumidifier model FFAD5033R1?

For the slightly larger model, FFAD7033R1, F1 turned out to be the humidity sensor. This can be accessed by removing just the back panel. If you have a soldering iron for less than a nickel you can just replace the NTC Thermistor (small orange resistor 10k) on the small PCB. See attached image below. In the image below just to the right of the white sensor you can see I removed the bad thermistor..pxl_20220505_200138238-xcwecsr4zo4tymj3g1gtyjri-d-0.jpg

Dehumidifier reads 30% no matter

Hello there,
Your guess is right as to what the cause of the problem is. The relative humidity (RH) sensor is faulty and need to be replaced. That is why it is stuck on 30%. When the RH is faulty, the compressor will not run. And the dehumidifier will not do anything.
Hope the moisture collected in the bucket is removed, becuse that also could be a cause of the problem. If the bucket that collects moisture is full, the sensor will send a message to the compressor and have it shut down automatically till the bucket is empty.
Once it is confirmed that the moisture collecting bucket is empty and it is still not reading anything other than 30%, then that confirms the problem to be from the RH sensor.
Hope this helped. All the best. Elect_Comp

Why won't the tank of a Frigidaire FFAD2233W1 dehumidifier stay in place in the base unit?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Spanish car company Seat (See-At). Is it less than a year old? You can claim on the warranty. The water bucket seems to have to parts that might snag, the handle and the float arrangement. It just slides in on two tracks. If there is no water in in, tip it onto its back and see if it is mis-tracked. https://na2.electroluxmedia.com/XL/Electrolux/Electrolux%20Assets/images/Product%20Photography/FFAD2233W1-F6_944.jpg?impolicy=dimensions&imwidth=1400 https://www.frigidaire.ca/Home-Comfort/Dehumidifiers/FFAD2233W1/ Stuck Bucket. https://www.google.com/search?q=frigidaire+ffad2233w1+dehumidifier+bucket+stuck ..

Can the grill of a 70 pint Frigidaire be removed to clean the coil?

With your unit switched off, vacuum them with a brush attachment. If still dirty, you can spray with a degreasant spray and then gently rinse with a towel under the coils. Dry with a hair dryer. That is how refrigeration techs do it.

My Frigidaire dehumidifier compressor runs constantly and will not turn off with the switch. Have to unplug the unit.. Everything seems to be working to dehumidify. Is this a bad motherboard?

Does it run after you get to the optimal humidity level? If so, it's a bad humidity sensor switch A cheap fix is to put it on a timer. Otherwise replace the switch.

I have a frigidaire LAD704DUL 70 pint dehumidifier. Last year it worked great. This year, it has not collected any water in the bucket. The motor runs, it is on CO setting but still no water. I have c

If you have a dehumidifier that is not producing any water then you are wondering what you need to do to get this thing to work for you. In some cases you may be able to do something and in other situations there may be nothing that you can do.If you do not hear the compressor running and the unit says that the humidity in the room is higher then the setting, then you have a problem with your dehumidifier. A few things that can cause this are:The circuit board relay has gone bad...replacement of this board will often cost more then a new unit. This also is a very common problem with many dehumidification units. The compressor has failed...if you hear a buzz for a few seconds, every few minutes, then you have a bad compressor or at least bad start components on the compressor. Either way it again is a costly repair. If the compressor is running and the coils are not getting cold then you have a refrigeration system leak. Recharging or fixing these units is very difficult and is another costly venture compared to the price of a new dehumidifier. If the compressor is running but the fan is not, this also will cause low water production and continual freezing of the coil.If the compressor and the fan are running but the coil is totally blocked then you will get no water production. Air needs to be continually moved over the cold coil to get the water out of the air.If nothing is running, then you may also have a control board failure. Or the humidity sensor or humidistat has gone bad which tells the machine to run. If the sensor says that the humidity is low enough then it will never run. Also if nothing is running check the float switch or the bucket switch. Many of these switches are very touchy and if you do not have the bucket in place just exactly right it will not trip the switch to allow the unit to run. These switches often are more fragile then they should be and break easily. The good thing is that when available they are easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. There are some parts available for a few brands, but with the prices for most of the parts that you can replace running anywhere from 40.00 - 80.00 dollars, replacement parts with labor to install them, makes a repair more then the few hundred dollar cost of many of these dehumidifiers. As you can see there are quite a few things that can cause your dehumidifier not to work. Systematically go through the list and eliminate things to get to the bottom of the issue causing your problem and then decide if it is worth spending the money to try to fix the old unit. Only you can make that decision.

Why does compressor continue running, even with dehumidifier turned off?

So I just had this happen with my Frigidaire fad704dwd dehumidifier. I went to basement and heard it running and sounded off. The compressor was running fan was off which is bad and humidity said 30. I then pushed the off button and it stayed running. I was able to fix it. To make long story short it was a bad ground. I took the plastic back, sides, and front off. There was a green ground (main ground) and Green/yellow ground (fan ground) on the front coil with a bunch of rust. Removed the grounds connected them both together and cleaned the surface area and used a new stainless screw nut and screw to remount the wires to evaporator coil. Everything started working fine after that and I put it back together. Good Luck

Hose not draining, bucket only fills

The easiest way to unstop the hose is to blow air through the end enough to clear the clumped up dust at the other end using air compressor or air pump.

When turn off. makes a humming sound. compressor

Have same issue with 3 year old Frigidaire dehumidifier purchased in 2012. Must unplug to stop compressor running with power switch turned off. Unit gets hot and smells. Unplugging creates arcs at outlet since unit is pulling a lot of power. Plugging back in after some hours will make it appear to run normally and again remove moisture but it will not shut off when the fan goes off (humidistat bad?) and the set-point is reached. Cannot leave plugged in due to safetty/fire/overheating concern. Have not found answer on this forum or any other so far.

Problem with draining water through hose

I bought one of the FDL70S1 Frigidaire dehumidifiers today for my shop, and found that the $5 hose I bought to drain it through the floor wouldn't tighten down completely, allowing the hose to twist and wobble, a sure indication that it was not water tight. Simply adding a second washer, as described in another answer here, allowed me to tighten the hose sufficiently to produce a tight fit with no play between the hose and the dehumidifier. It hasn't leaked. I know it is a threads-per-inch issue, and I am stumped as to why Frigidaire would supply these units with a different thread pitch than the standard GHT (garden hose thread) 3/4" - 11.5 tpi. The threads on the unit appear to be 3/4 NPS - 14 tpi. Go figure!

Frigidaire washer dryer FEX831FS4. Washer worked fine. Put load in the dryer and started another wash. After about 10 minutes, both shut off at the same time. Didn't blow a fuse in the house.

i don't know. be careful with electricity. if possible, try running normal washer load along with your dryer but with [no heat] 'cold air only' to see if they will keep running. if they run OK, consider shutting off both washer and dryer. shut off main electrical panel and change fuses for both washer and dryer. turn hydro on and run both again with your normal settings. if they fail again please call for repairs. my dryer would not run and although everything looked and tested out OK, i had to replace a small 6x8" electrical box having 2 only 30 amp screw in fuses. then it ran OK.
