Ribbon breaks on those older models are usually traced back to only a couple of things. 1. The ribbon-type may be set incorrectly in the printer driver. The C30 and C30e color ribbon type if doing single- or dual-side printing in full-color is #044200 - YMCKO; the ribbon type if doing dual-side printing with full-color front and black-only back is #044210 - YMCKOK. Open the driver, then "Printing Preferences", select the "Device Options" tab and verify that the ribbon type setting matches what you're using. Note that you can only make a change to the setting if you have sufficient (Admin) Windows privileges. 2. There is a mechanical issue with the printer, where an o-ring is broken, or the head-lift motor has gone out. Either is very bad, as the printer has long been out of production and parts are no longer available. (But you can contact us for a replacement - new or refurbished!) Good luck!

Really disappointing to hear that. All you need is proper guidance of handling printers there can be some technical issue with the printer. I heard of Plascards engaged in printing of plastic cards may be they can help you. You can also get it printed from this firm or can take assistance from other who have overcome such issues. There are no lubrication points on these printers. They were discontinued many years ago, and are out of support by the manufacturer. It squeeks because it is old and worn, and the only permanent solution will be to replace it with a current model.

There are no drivers available for the windows 7 platform that are compatible with the C16 - I had to install XP

your printer has either:
1.low ink
2.the movement of the in slider is to slow
3.the paper is going too fast when it is printed
i sugesset you either take it back (if its new) ,or get a new printer

Reinstall soft ware and se if that done,t cure it good luck, Bret

I am having the same problem. Hopefully changing the ribbon will resolve this. I am going to try it.
