I have a facebook page for my business and when I click on it or do a search from a computer (mac or pc) it takes me to the "Insights" for my page, rather than to the page itself. Pretty sure the prob
Well here we go again. I am a 29 year internet expert, and threw the years, I have seen many really great things start on the internet and fail for one reason or the other, and I also have seen many pretty glitchy , poorly wrote, systems that for some reason grabs the interest of the masses and they survive. Facebook in my long years of seeing good and bad systems come, go, fail, and survive, and not because of if they work great or bad but because of the way they are marketed, I believe Facebook is one of those that really needs a lot of work on its operating systems, and God knows they need a lot of help with all the hackers that make using it next to impossible. Take some advice from a old computer expert who has seen nearly all the internet could do and not do, if you run a business, it is CRITICAL you have your own website. Don't let that scare you, websites are not expensive, (a very nice eCommerce site can start at about $150.00) having it hosted so it is on line 24/7/365 can also be inexpensive, (I have 27 websites currently and all of them are hosted for just under $30.00 a month, a single website can be around $9.00 a month) However if your in business you MUST have your own website, so if there is a problem you can have it fixed, unlike relying on Facebook where your page problems goes into a very large problem to fix in box that is miles high already. The problem your having is one of many that is caused by using the wrong words in the wrong places and their system messes up and goes flakey. And most of the time you can mess with it for months and never figure out what is causing the problem. As for the fact that it works on pads and phones, all websites today have at least two separate independent website codes, one for computers with large screens and memory to spare and a trimmed down quick loading low memory usage site that is used when the site detects it is from a phone or pad. So that is a completely different system than the one used by typical computers. Facebook will allow you to forward people to your website when they look for you on Facebook, instead of using their clunky and not very functional web pages, where your currently having the problems. This way you are sure what your customers are seeing and they can contact you directly instead of going threw the over worked mail system Facebook uses. You can be sure your customer will be seeing only what you want them to see, for example, let say you sell shoes, your customer finds you on Facebook, they see your products but they also see a ad for shoes being offered by other businesses, yes, businesses pay Facebook to place their ads on pages that contain the same content so you might just lose the customer to a flashier ad by another company, where when you have them on your site this will not happen. There is no direct answer for your problem because it is, well lets just say, the way things go woohoo on Facebook. My best advice is to get your own web address, site, and hosting company so you can be sure your customers is having a good and working experience with your company without worrying that a ad will pop up and steal your customer away like it does so very much on Facebook. Just don't fall for slick ads for website construction and hosting, to have a single website written and hosted should only have a initial cost of about $250.00 total then the recurring monthly charges should stay in the range of $9.00 - $15.00 a month for having it hosted 24/7/365. Many website authors will convince you that a good website will cost thousands of dollars but don't fall for it, IT REALLY IS PRETTY REASONABLE if you find the right website authors and hosting companies. Good luck but I would give up on your problem and work on getting your own website up and running.
