Emachines are notoriously infamous for the lack of available documentation. Sometimes you can fine a "user manual", but these are often next to useless as a service guide. In this case a search of the net did not even find a "user manual". I suggest you contact eMachines directly and ask them. Good luck.

The hard drive must still be working to get the pictures off. The best thing to do is remove the hard drive from the machine and use either an external USB type case to mount the drive into so you can use another computer to explore the drive or there is a tool that just plugs on to the drive with a USB cable and power supply built in that will serve the same purpose. You must get the appropriate type to match the drive type which could be either IDE or SATA. SATA drives use the small cable and IDE use the wide ribbon. If the hard drive is not working, you would have to get specialized and expensive company to retrieve the data from the drive.

If battery is bad, computer will usually ask for time and date to be set every time you unplug the computer for a while. Most motherboard batteries are coin type CR2032 and are 3Volt lithium even available at your local Dollar Store. They can be tricky to remove and replace, so if you have no experience with this, it is best to get professional help or just look for some tips on-line. A mechanical screeching noise would most likely be caused by the cooling fan in your laptop. Repairing laptops is labor intensive and eMachine parts are not always available. You didn't give model information, so I could not search for the part. Previous experience working on laptops is recommended before attempting this kind of repair. If the correct part can be purchased, they are generally one of the more easily replaced parts as they generally just "plug in" and video's may be available to help you with the repair. Again, previous experience working on laptops is recommended.

A google search did not find any case parts for your machine. You may be able to buy a case with front USB on it suitable to transfer the contents of your computer in to. However, this is a very outdated computer that is not worthy of the labor and expense in my humble opinion. You may be able to find a more up to date machine for less than the cost of the new case and the labor to transfer the parts.

A service manual for any eMachine will not be available. The best you will be able to get is a "user manual" which is next to useless for actually servicing a problem. eMachines are notorious for poor and non existent documentation.

Change the cable connecting the computer and monitor to a different monitor port as the computer may not yet be configured for the port you have plugged the monitor in to.

An E732z eMachine is a laptop computer. If a USB port is not working, it may be broken from the motherboard. Laptop motherboard repairs can be very challenging, often impossible if you don't have the right equipment or experience. You may be able to find dis-assembly information/instructions, however if the part itself is broken, you may have issues finding parts given eMachines less than adequate documentation for their computers in general. More often than not, a complete removal of the motherboard is necessary to work on it. You must observe static electricity precautions. You should have experience with surface mounted devices and know that permanently damaging a motherboard is very easily done without the right experience working on them. That means your hard drive is bad.

Guessing, but it sounds like your hard drive has been damaged. You may need a new drive, or at least repairs. If you have a "rescue disk", give that a try.

Flashes & beeps indicate a start up failure on the motherboard. You'd need to google the trouble codes for your particular make & model to determine which mother board system is the problem. It might be simple like a mother board battery failure or something more complex like unreadable bios. If the computer is a few years old, it's not good. If you are curious, bring it to a repair shop but I can tell you 95% of the time you end up buying a new computer after you pay the shop fee. Why? Because you find out the repair costs almost as much as a better replacement on Amazon. Do yourself a favor. Get the replacement and have the computer shop recover your files from the old unit or pay $23 and get the DIY kit on EBAY. Good luck.
