No signal to monitor

One bad or faulty lead connection can cause a computer to continue restarting on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL.

http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

hope this helps

Reset password emachine

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

ET183105 PC Desktop black screen

Either your monitor or video card is bad. Try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays and works, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does the same as your original monitor and does not work, then the Video Card inside the computer is bad.

How to get out a disk I dropped in the machine? Emachines all.in.one ez1601

All-In-One desktop computer disassembly isn't usually posted. Technology is still new enough, and required skills needed, dissuade the imparting of this information.Plus eMachines is about worthless for support info anyway, lol!A) Construction, and design of the machine dictate a laptop type of environment. All the hardware components are crammed into one tiny box, with very little cooling inside, and the monitor is attached. (LCD screen)Free Service Manual,http://www.manualslib.com/manual/232919/Acer-Ez1601-01.html#manualJust go to the top, and click on the page number you want, or go page by page;OR,Scroll to the bottom right below the first page, and click on the Green -Download Manual (154 pages, 9.48Mb)Going inside the all-in-one means you had better wear an ESD wrist strap, and have the alligator clip attached to a good ground source.(Electro Static Discharge)Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.Wear an ESD wrist strap, or prepare to use your all-in-one for an expensive doorstop, if you don't.Cost averages from $3 to $6. One example,http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103245[ I connect to an unpainted surface, of the metal frame if an open, empty desktop computer case. You can also set a large metal serving tray, (Unpainted), on the table you're working on, and connect to it.Or a large metal knickknack. (Unpainted) ]Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove.Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.For additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

I cannot find the specifications for an EMachine 1161-05 desktop. Just want to know if the motherboard will take a PCI sound card.

According to NewEgg it has one PCI slot, but already in use. CNet mentions a modem. This may be what is using the slot. Remove the modem if not in use.Simplest way is to open it up and verify.

You can reset administrator password with Windows built-in administrator account: 1. Log on with the guest account on windows, then right click computer, and choose Management. 2. Expand Local Users and Groups and Users in the console. 3. Right-click Administrator account and select Properties. 4. On the General tab, clear the Account is Disabled check box. 5. Close the console. Now the super administrator account is successfully enabled. Next, you can easily reset the forgotten admin password from "Start->Control Panel". If the above method can not help you, you can use Smartkey Password Recovery Bundle to help you to reset the password, and see the detail direction from http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/passwordrecovery.html.

Plug the computer in and it comes on without using the on and off switch.

It sounds like the motherboard is dead, but just to be sure your power supply isn't the issue you can test it for sure with a psu tester like one of these:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=psu%20tester&bop=And&Order=REVIEWS&PageSize=20

My computer mother board is bad. I need to transfer all my information from the hard drive to a new computer. Is there a way to do this.

Just take the hard drive out of your old computer and hook it up to another computer via a usb port with a device like this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002Then when you have it hooked up to your new computer via the usb port just transfer the files you need from the old computers hard drive to the new computers hard drive in windows explorer.

Transfer your data over from the old hard drive to the new computer

The easiest way is to connect the old hard drive to an USB adapter case and make it an USB external hard drive. Connect this to the USB port on your new computer, the computer will see the external hard drive as an External storage device. You can then open the various folder on the hard drive and copy the files to your new computer. You can delete all the unnecessary folders and files off the old hard drive and use it as a backup storage device.
