XP ran form 2001 to 2014 and ended then 100$ DEad as in StaR TREK "HE'S DEAD JIM , DEAD" XP is A virus magnet (from H3LL")_ 99% of all non OEM drivers found via google are virus infected. the coin cell battery is dead, if is can never be ignored. the tower sticker is OEM only and will not work with retail disks only with OEM emachine install disks and same goes with the reverse of that, retail coa on OEM disk fails and now MS ended it all, DOA , EOL, kaput. well, bios never ever ever works with the battery dead it will never happen, PC 101 class day 1 facts as are bad HDD.. what can work are hacked XP install disks that are now neutered. others hack out the reg features. not asking for COA again. but all those are infected too why not just get a real PC, 2010 and newer and load w10=64b like a fine DELL 3020MT or wow 9020 MT pure love and very cheap. expelled from silly business's as knee jerk upgrade and our GAIN. i5 gen 4 up.

I have a Emachine w3503

your cmos battery(CR2032) is FLAT. you need to replace it. you then need to CLEAR the cmos so it doesnt contain corrupt values. that process erases any passwords. usually the jumper is next to the battery . fit new battery. move jumper to CLR position(shorting pins) wait a few seconds. move jumper back across to NRM(normal) position. start the pc, enter the BIOS, load DEFAULTS, SAVE and reboot. enjoy.

My E-machine W3050 does not wake properly from

Question: Did it ever work? Is it only recovery from sleep? Will it boot normally if you unplug the computer while it is on (forced crash) and then restart. Will it boot in Safe mode? Getting stuck at the welcome screen indicates a driver not loading properly. Since the display does not work, likely the video drivers. Update with the newest driver from Nvidia for your system. Windows XP has had problems in the past with recovering from power management settings like hibernate and sleep. https://www.geforce.com/drivers

Cd-rw runs for 5 sec. and stop

Hello, Check your Cd-rw for bent pins or dirty connections. If its not that then you can try the drive in another computer (if you have one) and see if it works. If not then you probley need a new drive. Check www.newegg.com for new drives. Hope that helps.

Is it possible to cause a powersupply overlaod

Power surge or lightning strike. Power Supply Problems Computer power supplies are often taken for granted even though the job they do is complex. While every power supply takes the electrical current from an AC outlet and converts it into something that an appliance can use, a computer power supply must do so at several different voltages at once. A faulty power supply can cause many random computer issues and learning to diagnose them can save you a great deal of time.Recognizing an Overloaded Power Supply Most power supplies have variable-speed fans. If the fan always emits a loud, whining noise, there might be a problem. This can be one of your first clues that you might be stressing your power supply. First, check the power supply itself. Some power supplies have two cooling fans and one may need to be connected to the computer's motherboard. If there is only one cooling fan, examine it. Is it dirty? The fan can be cleaned with a cotton swab dampened with a little rubbing alcohol. If the power supply is clean and the auxiliary cooling fan (if applicable) is connected, you may be working the power supply too hard. If you have a powerful computer with several hard drives, multiple video cards, and a speedy processor, temporarily disconnect a few of these components to see if this cures the problem. If it does, you will need to consider purchasing a new power supply. An overloaded power supply may cause your computer to lock up or reboot when the computer is working particularly hard, such as when you are playing a game, rendering a complicated graphic image, or recording a song with real-time digital signal processing. If you are experiencing these symptoms, consider replacing the power supply. Recognizing a Failing Power Supply A failing power supply can be difficult to diagnose. An audible signal may be your first clue, though. If you hear a grinding, buzzing, hissing, or clicking sound from your power supply, replace it immediately. It may be a serious fire risk. Not every power supply fails in such spectacular fashion, however. If your computer shuts down during the boot process or randomly while you are using the PC or if it locks up or reboots when you are not performing a complicated task, the power supply may be to blame. Safety Note Computer power supplies contain capacitors that hold a potentially dangerous charge. If you are not completely comfortable around electronics, do not attempt to clean a dirty power supply on your own. Have an expert do it for you, or discard the power supply and purchase a new one. http://www.fonerbooks.com/power.htm http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/stress-test,1073.html http://pcguide.com/ref/power/sup/index.htm
