T5212 making fan grinding sound possibly from heatsink fan?

In My Humble Opinion, Heather, YOU can fix anything in your computer. You have replaced a Power Supply, and added a graphics card.1) The eMachines T5212 Desktop PC uses an Intel D102GGC2 motherboard,http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121031The motherboard supports an LGA 775 processor socket,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_775Instead of the processor having the contact pins, as in the older Intel Pentium 4 processors (Socket 478), the LGA 775 processor socket has the contact pins.http://www.pcworld.com/product/29441/emachines-t5212.htmlAfter the page fully loads click on the third view down, and the left side. This inside view shows the black rounded air duct, used on the processor fan. Here is a replacement Heatsink/Fan combo,http://www.cputopia.com/emachine-fan-t-series-t5212.htmlIt looks as though the unit comes apart. (unscrews)If so you can just replace the fan itself.IF not however, it means the finned aluminum Heatsink, AND fan remove. In this case you have to THOROUGHLY clean the top of the Processor, and bottom of the Heatsink, and apply Thermal Paste properly.I can guide you.[ I know you have been following the proper procedures, but I would hate to learn later that you haven't been, and I didn't post;Follow Anti-Static PrecautionsYour body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.Relieve your body of Static BEFORE working on your computer, or before taking those parts out of their anti-static bags, or cartons.Computer on a table, computer Unplugged from power, computer case open;TOUCH an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of the open computer case. This action will relieve your body of Static.IF you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again upon your return ]Be sure to clean in-between the fins of the Heatsink, before installing the new fan.Know you need to get a new computer?Only if it fits your needs. For myself it is internet, Youtube, Adobe Photoshop 7, and office programs. My Pentium 4 HT, model 540j, (3.2GHz), 2GB's of ram memory, and an ATI Radeon 9250, does just fine.If you are a gamer, and/or use 3D programs, and/or burn videos, then more 'power' is needed. IMHO.Windows 7? Windows 8? Yeah, whatever. I have Win7 on my new laptop. Perhaps one day Windblows will catch up with Ubuntu and the Compiz windows manager, lol!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRAcskPNof4&feature=relatedFor additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards,joecoolvettehttp://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d102ggc2/sb/CS-022441.htmIntel Desktop Board D102GGC2 Product Guide - English (PDF) = Motherboard manual in PDF file form. I have aT3830 that wont power on

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=D845GVSR-BO-R I would like you to 'jumpstart' it, and then post back in a Comment. Jump the Soft Power On of the 20-pin ATX main power cable. Power supply plugged into power, 20-pin ATX main power cable plugged into motherboard. Straighten out a paperclip, then bend it into a U-shape. Put black plastic electrical tape around the top of the U. Turn the U upside down. You are going to use the 'legs'. The legs go down in the back of the main power cable's connector. (Where the wires go in) One leg goes down into a socket hole with the Green wire, RIGHT NEXT TO the wire, and MAKE SURE it touches the metal terminal at the bottom. The other leg of the U-shaped jumper wire goes down into ANY socket hole with a Black wire. Contact made is brief. Does the Power Supply turn on? As stated, post back in a Comment. http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atxmain20

I need a wireing dieagram for the motherboard on a T3065 e machine

You will find (normally in the bottom right) 2 rows of pins sticking out of the motherboard. Some of these will have connections to them with wires coming out and going to the front of your cumputer. Look for a free space usually about 2 or 3 pins, marked PWR, O/I or PSW. Alternatively it may be color coded Blue or Green is usually the color for the power switch. I have attached a picture of an e machine motherboard showign the location of the connectionsOne of hte pins might be marked with a + this can be ignored if you are just connecting the power switch.

PSU is new. When turn on, no fans spin a

Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/f/powersupplytest.htm

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU. Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink. hope this helps

Powerup problems

you should not leave PC on for more than a couple days.It may have gone into Hibernate and if there is a bad sector, (i.e. read errors,) when that is loaded into RAM, then that can cause many symptoms. Try to boot into Safe Mode, then if that works, Restart and use Normal mode.
