15'' lcd energystar monitor problems

Try another monitor to verify the Graphics Card, if you have a graphics card, then another monitor cable. check for bent pins in the connectors, eliminate the hardware by changing each component/cable one by one. It may be the Graphics Card/Adapter is gone. Clean the inside of machine, overheating due to dust will cook components, GPU's get quite hot. Try some Electronic Contact cleaner spray on the Graphics Card connections, if applicable. Unplug before reseating the Graphics Card or cleaning, take precautions in ESD before handling a Component. If your Graphics is integrated, you can purchase a aftermarket PCIe x16 Graphics Card quite reasonably, : http://www.google.com/webhp?source=search_app#q=ati+amd+pcie+x16+graphics+card&hl=en&sa=X&tbs=vw:l,p_ord:p&tbm=shop&ei=ze05Uf25KJDO9ASIyYHYDw&ved=0CF8Quw0oAg&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.43287494,d.eWU&fp=bc2048b0dd90d6d4&biw=854&bih=580

How do I slave a cd-rom drive in a dimension 1100

Most CD or DVD drives installed in modern computers have a group of short jumper pins on the rear of the drive that determine the master or slave setting for the device. The master or slave setting helps to identify the drive when it shares a connector cable inside the computer with another device, such as a hard drive or even another optical drive. Without the master or slave jumper setting, the computer would not be able to tell one device from another or from which drive to retrieve or write data. Configuring a CD drive as master or slave is a relatively simple task that takes only a couple of minutes. Turn the CD drive so that you view the rear of the unit, then check the position of the jumper covers on the set of pins next to the power adapter plug. If the CD drive will be the only device on the IDE data ribbon cable, set the jumper cover on the two pins farthest away from the power connector. This position is the master drive setting, and, by default, most CD drives ship with this configuration. In most cases, if the CD drive is the only device connected to the cable, you do not need to change the jumper setting. Determine if you need to change the CD drive jumper setting if the device will share a connector cable with a hard drive or another optical drive. If the CD drive will be the primary (master) device on the cable, do not change the jumper setting. If the CD drive will be the secondary (slave) device on the cable, continue to the next step to change the setting. Use a pair of needle-nosed pliers or your fingers to remove the jumper cover from the CD drive if the unit will be the secondary device on the IDE ribbon cable. Set the cover over the pair of pins next the pair from which you removed it, then press it until it completely covers the pins. The jumper is now in the slave setting position.

Power source would not start

Power source is more than likely dead. :p You will need to replace it, but it's best to take it into a shop since these things require troubleshooting. There could be multiple reasons why it won't start.

Have E machine t6522 that wont boot or allow me into anything on it cause the keyboard wont work.It flashes when power on,but will not stay on.USB on all sides are also inactive. HELP!!!???

I found the micro switch power button was broke on a lap top and also on a home computer in another sitution. I replaced the switch and all worked well again. On the lap top the internal spring in the switch was broke and in the home computer the switch would stick. This might seem as too easy of a fix in your case, but I would sure look at this possibility first. If it's not the power switch, all the past suggestion are in order. Good luck

eMachines T5048?Suggest you enter BIOS Setup, and in Boot Options, set the first boot device to CDROM.This makes the computer boot from the Recovery disk. How to enter BIOS Setup? (May be called CMOS Setup also, but I don't believe the computer is that old)Look at the bottom of the monitor screen, as soon as the eMachines logo comes up. It will state what key to press to - enter BIOS Setup.Usually it's the DELete key, or F2 key,. for eMachines. May be the Tab key.Window of opportunity went by, and you didn't get into BIOS Setup?S'okay. We just need to know what key to press, for now.Got the key written down?Open the optical drive, and put the Recovery disk in. Close the optical drive tray. Now hold the Power On button in, and for a count of 10 seconds.Turns the computer off.WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.AS SOON AS you press the Power On button, start tapping on the enter BIOS Setup key.Tap in 2 second intervals.Hear beeps? Ignore them. They are Stuck Key Error Code beeps, and it is you that is doing it.Takes a few seconds. Now you should be looking at the BIOS Setup utility, and the Main menu.BIOS Setup utilities change from computer to computer. That's because there are 3(?) major BIOS manufacturing companies, and each BIOS has a different version.(Phoenix/Award and AMI)The menu headings may go across the top.Just one example;Main / Advanced / Power / Boot / ExitOr they may be listed in a column,http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/bios_setup.htmhttp://www.computerhope.com/help/phoenixa.htm(Scroll down a little)http://www.daossoft.com/documents/boot-from-cd-award-bios-setup.htmlWhen in the BIOS(CMOS) Setup utility, you CANNOT use the Mouse anymore. You have to use the Keyboard to navigate around. With the menu's going across the top, for example; you would use the Right Arrow key, and highlight -> BootThen press the Enter key. With menus that are in a column, use the Down Arrow key to highlight Advanced, or Advanced BIOS. (Or Advanced CMOS)Press the Enter key.You will see - First Boot Device, Second Boot Device, Third Boot Device, and Boot from other. To the right you will see the various devices, the computer can boot from;HarDDrive, (HDD-0), CDROM, Floppy, Internet, etc.You want CDROM to be to the right of First Boot Device. If the devices are just listed in an order, you want CDROM at the Top.With First Boot Device, Second Boot Device, etc listed;Use the Down Arrow, and highlight First Boot Device.Press the Enter key.Your cursor will now be in the device order list.Use the Down Arrow key to highlight CDROM.Now look at the navigation guide at the bottom. To move CDROM to the Top, you may press the;Page Up/Page Down key, or the +/- key. (Plus/Minus key)Depends on what is listed in the navigation guide at bottom.(If +/- key just press the - key)With CDROM at the Top press the Enter key.Things differ here too;A small window may come up asking, Save Changes? It may show F12 - Save ChangesOr it may show a Y for Yes, and an N for No(Or Yes/No)If F12 just press the F12 key, and the computer will restart. If you have the Recovery disk in the optical drive, the computer will now boot from it.If Yes/No, or Y/N; use the appropriate Arrow key, and highlight Y, or Yes. (Note: If Y just press the lower case y. The uppercase Y is just shown for clarity)Press the Enter key.If the Recovery disk is in the optical drive, the computer will boot from it.Recovery disk isn't in the optical drive? No sweat. Put it in there. Now press the CTRL key, ALT key, and DElete key AT THE SAME TIME.This makes the computer restart. If you have never approached this procedure before, it probably looks like, "Wa-wa-wa".(That's what my niece states when I try to explain computer technology. Wa-wa-wa from the Peanuts cartoon. lol!)You pull up the BIOS Setup utility, and tell me what you see. You'll be my eyes, and I'll step by step you through it.We will post back, and forth in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

Emachines laptop e525 mouse pad not working at all

Look at the middle cover (above the keyboard). there are two buttons that touch the power switch, the one to the left enables/disables the touchpad. If it shows an orange light it is disabled. Just press it, and be careful not to hit it when turning unit on.
