How do you use wifi on an e-machines etower 500is?

I suggest use a Wireless USB Adapter, and make sure you have a wireless router. (Also if the internet provider did not give you a separate Modem; make sure the wireless router you have has a Modem built-in)http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1883613&CatId=2688http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3334084&Sku=D700-2328Scroll down, read, watch video, read reviews.(Not all 555 of course, lol!)Regards, joecoolvette

How can I upgrade my etower to an adequate gaming cpu?

Sorry, but the specs for the PC noted just won't support today's media rich, robust internet, and not to mentions games. Any hardware upgrades will eventually lead to a new system.PC specshttp://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/etower-633id-celeron-633/4507-3118_7-3191361.html

Installing new cpu on a emachine

According to the specs I have Serena, the eMachines eTower 633i Desktop PC, uses a TriGem Cognac motherboard.[TriGem is the manufacturer, Cognac is the model.Note it is Not the TriGem Cognac+ ]http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/motherboards_d/Trigem/Cognac/Specifications. (You can click on the photo to enlarge)PDF motherboard manual,http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/TriGem/manuals/index.htmlClick on - Cognac - in the left side of the list.Going back to the Motherboards.org page;(Nothing like upside down photo information, and the motherboard is turned 90 degrees to the Right, to how it actually sits in your computer case )The processor socket is a Socket 370,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_370Used for Intel Pentium III processors, and intel 'Celey' processors.(Excuse me......Celeron.An Intel Pentium III processor has TWICE the L2 cache, that a comparable Intel Celeron has.The cache for a Processor is a small memory area for the Processor. It is the First memory the Processor accesses. The Ram Memory is second, and the Harddrive is third.More cache for a Processor makes it more faster )The motherboard chipset is an Intel 810.The Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, is an Intel 82810.The Southbridge chip is an Intel 82801AA, or an Intel 82801AB.(Intel ICH, or Intel ICH0 )Looking at the chart, and reading across, you can see what the Intel 810 motherboard chipset supports;1) Processors: Intel Celeron, or Intel Pentium II, or Intel Pentium III.2) Processor Front Side Bus: (FSB) 66MegaHertz, or 100MHz.3) SDR Sdram ram memory at 100Megahertz.[Single Data Rate Sdram is often just referred to as Sdram.Erroneous. Double Data Rate Sdram is also Sdram (DDR Sdram)Synchronous Dynamic Random Access MemorySo is DDR2 Sdram, and DDR3 Sdram ] Also referred to as PC100.So when looking for a CPU you look for;1) Fits in a Socket 370 processor socket. Yep. The best is going to be an Intel Pentium III.2) Has a FSB of 100MHz.Hmmm,............http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_III_microprocessors#.22Coppermine.22_.28180_nm.29Scroll down.Pentium III 1100.Maximum frequency rate ('Speed') is 1.1GHz (1100MHz)Front Side Bus = 100MHzUses a Socket 370 processor socket.Part Number = RB80526PY005256sSpec Number = SL5QWhttp://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium-III/TYPE-Pentium%20III%20%28Coppermine%29.htmlhttp://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium-III/Intel-Pentium%20III%201100%20-%20RB80526PY005256%20%28BX80526F1100256%29.htmlIn the top header -Specifications / Pictures (1) / CPU ID (1) / Comments (1),click on Pictures (1)You can click on the photo to enlarge.256MegaByte of L2 cache. (256MB)A comparable Celeron would have 128MB of L2 cache.http://www.recycledgoods.com/products/Intel-SL5QW-PIII-Processor-1100-256-100-1.75V.htmlhttp://www.impactcomputers.com/sl5qw.html[ Don't forget to follow Anti-Static Precautions.Clean the bottom of the Heatsink THOROUGHLY, and the top of the Processor if it needs it. (I always do anyway)PROPERLY apply fresh, new Thermal Paste. For additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

Restore administrator without disk on pc emachine

Without reset disk, well, there are still many other ways to reset windows password. For example, unlock Windows password with Windows built-in Administrator account. Here's how this admin unlocks forgotten Windows password:Start your computer and wait for the Windows Login or Welcome Screen. Once it shows, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice and then type Administrator in the pop-up username box, but leave the password column blank. Next you could successfully log onto system. The following steps for resetting the forgotten password are quite easy. You can make it from "Start->Control Panel->Users Accounts".Learn more: http://www.windowspasswordreset.net

Where can i connect the ethernet cord

As from the specification of this model on net I have found that there is only modem not Ethernet card, so you have to install first Ethernet or LAN card to connect ethernet cord with your pc. Make sure your motherboard has PCI slot to install it. Let me know updates.

Operating system not found

There are several causes. These may be of hardware or software origin in nature. You may try any one or more of the following. 1. Open up the casing of the PC and try removing the hard disk drive and then refitting firmly into place before switching it back on. Try removing and fitting other components as well. This should ensure that accidential shock to the PC that may have affected the connections does not affect any connection of the hardware components.2. If step 1 does not work, then it is a software problem. This happens if the computer cannot locate the boot initialisation files. A good way to fix this problem would be to reinstall the Windows OS using the Repair option, keeping the existing OS option (several steps needed). Boot files are normally corrupted by virus action or by excess heating of the HDD or by running a harmful file. Accidental deletion by a careless user is another reason.3. If the two preceding steps fail, then know that the hard drive has developed problems with its boot sectors on the surface of the HDD. Consider slaving it in anyother PC and attempt at recovering all of your personal data before the hard drive completely fails.I hope this helpsMK - PNG
