fiter is dead clogged up inside. you could wash it 50 times still wont unclog. simple fix, just buy a new filter and empty bin more often in the future and wash filter every month and fit new one every two years
two faults, mainly battery.
A flashing blue light indicates that there is no power, please charge the battery. A flashing amber light indicates that there is no power or a temporary fault (e.g. too hot/cold). A flashing red light indicates that there is a fault, please call the Dyson Helpline.
I just successfully completed this replacement on a DC33 (the prefilter catch is blue on this model.) Not sure how different the assembly is from the DC07 but thought I would post:
If you turn the vacuum over there are two screws that loosen the exhaust pipe--one you can see and one up a small shaft (which also loosens the cowling just under the cyclonic assembly.) Both will require a driver or allen-style wrench with a medium-sized star head. Remove both and you will be able to take off the exhaust pipe. You'll need to pull back the aforementioned cowling a bit as you do this.
Once the exhaust pipe is off you will be able to see the bottom of the prefilter catch. You'll notice five tiny bays--if you shine a flashlight through you'll see that between bays 2 and 3 there is a small catch (you can note it at the bottom of your replacement prefilter catch as well.) Shove two extra small screw drivers (like the size you get in eyeglass repair kits) into bays 2 & 3, then gently press down on the driver handles to release the catch. A little pushing at the same time will remove your broken prefilter catch.
DON'T INSTALL YOUR NEW CATCH YET! Otherwise, like me, you'll have to immediately remove it to reinstall the exhaust pipe :) This was the most time consuming part of the whole operation, as you kind of have to fenangle it a bit to get it back on. Be patient and don't forget to pull the cowling back again while you're doing this. Once it's back on, realign the cowling at the top of the assembly and replace the screws. Then you can turn the vacuum upright again to easily snap in your new prefilter catch.

The cyclone pack on your DC14 should never be washed, flushed with water or submerged. Any residual water left within the assembly could cause permanent damage to your vacuum not covered under warranty. It could also contribute to an unpleasant odour from your machine in use.
To clean the clear bin and shroud, you can remove the clear bin from the cyclone pack using the catch on the rear of the cyclone pack, as shown below. A soft brush or dry cloth can then be used to remove any clinging fluff or debris from the shroud. Gently tapping the cyclone pack will also help remove any clinging dust particles.
You can also rinse or wipe the inside of the clear bin with a damp cloth to remove any dust particles, but make sure it's completely dry before reassembling.

believe it or not i would use a long paint brush with a opened bin linner,, to collect all the dust,,,
you can wash your blue filter in plain water and leave to dry as u would pots n pans on the side,,
when u have cleaned the area around the cyclone.. close your eyes and blow into the cyclone.. then use another large hoover to remove access dust and rubbish that was in the cyclone,
I know this sounds silly, but it works. Turn it over and wipe all the black residue off the bottom of it (off the plastic on the bottom that rubs on the carpet as you push and pull it). I thought my husband was out of his mind when he told me that was the solution, but it really works.
With the cleaner on. move the cable where it enters the cleaner through a rubber grommet. There is a common fault with these cleaners that the cable breaks at that point. soon the cleaner wont work at all until it is rewired.

You say 'vacuuming the floor'. Hard floors should not have the brush bar turning. The brush is for carpets only.
There are two belts on this machine. One is between the clutch unit and is very hard to remove. you can however remove the brush belt and remove all fluff, hairs and threads and then replace the belt.
Where did you order the 'Genuine Part' from. It sounds like a Genuine copy made in China like the brush that was sent to me. Genuine parts only come from Dyson direct. Mine came from Amazon.
