To whom it may concern, What you're describing is not generally a box function, that is usually in your actual TV settings. The CC settings that you'll find in the receiver won't be able to do what you're asking.. but the CC that are integrated into the TV probably are. You can easily buy a replacement remote from amazon for dish tv. $20 or under. You can try best buy as well. I know they carry directv remotes.

To whom it may concern, At the top right hand side of your remote press the "tv" button, then underneath that is an "input" button. Press this slowly until you find picture. If this doesn't work, look on the side of the tv for a button labeled "input" or "source". Dish Network (Echo Star Communications) is a problem company. The best solution to your problem is to switch to cable or Direct-TV.

Dish Network should be avoided at all costs.

Masking tape over the ir sensor on the tv or turn off all energy savers.

I have the same issue and find it unbelievable that the Dish Network DVR is so noisy. It's virtually a deal killer, except now I have the damn dish on my roof. Why can't Dish commission a better quality product?

You are not able to use the DVR unless you have Dish Network services. Cable operates at a different frequency than Dish Networks Dish Pro Plus Receivers.
