I have a digi portserver 2 16 port. When i connect the power, its not getting switch onn. Any idea how to fix my problem.

I am ASSUMING you mean power on, right. Is this an AC powered unit or DC? If it's DC make sure when you connect your volt meter from the - to + terminals that you are getting a +48vdc. If you are installing this in a telecom facility chances are the power plant is -48vdc which would mean you will need to connect the ground side to the positive terminal and the source side to the negative terminal. If you are using AC verify again with a volt meter that you have 110/120vac and that the plug is properly grounded. This is easily done from the female end of the power cord. If that is fine there should be a fuse on the unit check that.Let me know how it goes.

002 rack red light only

DSQRD here...
After disconnecting power source, I went back in and unhooked and rehooked the white plastic connector located at the front of the unit. It's in between the power switch and the mainframe and has about 6 wires through it. This time it worked and the 002 lit up. It's kinda humid in my studio and I think the connections film up easily. I plan to address that issue as well. It was a coincidence I guess that all this started the same time I hooked up the external drive. It through us off as to what had happened.
Good luck

I want to hook up a an interface to a mackie

you can just piggyback the mixers - take the outputs from the mackie mixer (assuming it is NOT a powered mixer) ... those should be line level outputs - send them into a line level input on the digi 002 and then set that channel on the digi 002 and once set, just leave it, and control the mackie channels individually ... should work fine ...

I have an mbox 1,

Hello,
It is a widely known fact that the mbox 1 has problems on MAC. Some people have had success following these instructions:

1) Close iTunes, pro tools or anything that could be trying to use the audio device.

2) Open the Digi CoreAudio Manager. (This app should be running if you're not using Pro Tools, but want to use the mbox as for other computer audio like iTunes)

3) Set the Buffer Size in CoreAudio Manager to 256 (this is the main thing for resolving the issue)

4) Go to System Preferences > Sound and set the output to Digidesign HW

5) Open iTunes, pro tools, audio should work through the mbox

Note: If these steps don't work, try them again after restarting with the mbox connected

Hope this helps anyone looking to fix this issue!

And, if after all that, you're still having problems, try this:

Quit out of all open applications.

Trash the following preference files:

1. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.systempreferences.plist (delete this file)
2. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist (delete this file)
3. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > com.digidesign.CoreAudioManager.plist (delete this file)
4. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > ByHost > com.apple.systempreferences.xxxxxxxxxxxx.plist (delete this file)

Empty the trash, restart and let me know if it's working or not.

They stress (have the audio device plugged in and turned on before you turn your MAC power on. The device does not support the mac sleep function so if the MAC goes to sleep, you will need to reboot.
