We had excactly the same problem a couple of times recently with a lot of troubleshooting,like adjsusting grinder, reseting the to factory settings, and many more and we end up that it was a problem with pcb control board which lost the preset timing of grinding thus the coffee grinding where about 3-4 sec and the correct one shold be about 8-9 sec. We have here one side which have the
control board for your reference.

Delonghi magnifica door won't stay shut
I had this problem. The door didn't snap when I shut it and it would pop open and stop the brewing. It was an easy 5 minute fix.
I removed the drip tray and the black plastic bin where the spent coffee grounds are expelled. With a flashlight I could clearly see 1/4" to 1/2" caked coffee grinds lining the back of the cabinet at its base. This residue kept the bin from seating correctly. Because the bin wasn't all the way back into the cabinet it put pressure on the door and kept it from latching. I cleaned out the buildup with a small spatula and a brush and the door latched perfectly again.

Attemps to gind but no beans seem to get through
Machine thinks there are no beans because it is not grinding. Most likely the grinder is blocked. The common causes are a small foreign object, a stale hard bean and moisture (either from water spillage or moist beans). The first thing you should do is vacuum ALL the beans out, set it to the coarsest grind setting and run the grinder a few times ( with no beans). Then put a small amount of fresh beans (make sure they are dry and not from fridge or freezer) in and try again. Give it a few goes. If it still wont grind have a good look down there, if it looks wet let it dry out for a while and try again. If none of thes easy tips help you will have to remove the top grinder burr and clean both burrs. Good luck.

NO WATER COMING THROUGH ALTHOUGH TANK IS FULL, AND
turn unit on let it set up as norm ... when it trys to wash or even if it dont ..turn steam knob fully open until noise has gone .. all done ..oh turn steam offf... bsc appliances 07779933829 postal service too

Grounds container indicator light stays on
I have the same problem as this after cleaning. The machine won't power on. It does a power on self test and then the grounds tray full or missing light comes on and nothing else can be done.
A friend of mine with a similar machine says hers fixed itself after a while so assume some sensor got jammed/obscured with my over zealous cleaning. However I'm not hopeful. Might try taking it apart.

The grinder on my DeLonghi seems to be stuck. It
Likely a foreign object is blocking up the grinder. Remove all beans and
run at coarsest grind to try to clear it, chase it through with more
beans if necessary. If this does not clear it then the top burr of the
grinder assembly can be removed after disassembling the machine. Mark
the grinder coarseness cogs before moving them to assist reassembly.
Moderately difficult procedure.

The descaling light stays on
You are not completing the descale program. See below.10.3 DESCALINGDue to the continuous heating of the water used to make the coffee, overtime it is normal for the tubing inside the machine to fill with lime scale.When the light starts flashing( chap. 12-point 5), it is time to descalethe machine.NOTE: when the light switches on, the coffee maker can still be used toprepare coffee.Proceed as follows:• Empty the tank and pour in the contents of one bottle (125 ml) ofDURGOL descaler plus one liter of water. For subsequent descalingoperations, descaling solution can be purchased from authorisedtechnical service centres.NB: Make sure splashes of descaler do not fall onto surfaces sensitiveto acid such as marble, limestone and glaze.• place a container with a minimum capacity of 1.5 litres underthe milk frother (Fig. 3);• turn the machine on by pressing the button (Fig. 4).• wait for the green and indicator lights to come on steady.• press and hold the button for at least 5 seconds (Fig.14).
